Prefect for Groups that want a feel of old Florida

Private Group, Boy & Girl Scouts and Youth and Church groups camping permitted with proper reservations.

Primitive Camping for groups only unless booking private concierge camping service.

There are bathrooms but no showers, there is an outdoors kitchen and a screened pavilion. You can also visit the Pioneer Area, Gift Shop, Tatum House, Pioneer Cabin, Tatum House, Organic garden and farm animals.

The Crowley property covers 191 acres of old Florida habitats loaded with native plants, animals, insects, and birds. Numerous hiking trails take visitors through many ecosystems including piney flatwoods, oak hammocks, and along a half-mile boardwalk (currently closed for repairs) through swamp and marsh. You can view the river from the tower at the end of the boardwalk or accessed from Rice Fields Trail. The spring-fed Crowley creek meanders along the edge of the marsh and attracts otters, birds and seasonally alligators.

On the property you will enjoy goats, cracker horses, cracker cattle, pigs and other farm animals. Along with camping you can arrange a living history tour at an additional fee. They are considering offering equestrian camping as well.

This is a very special location, holding lots of history in the pioneer area where there are multiple restored buildings from the late 1800's pioneers. Anyone you meet will be happy to share that history with you. This location is very popular with local scouting groups and schools. Also you will find one of Florida's Most popular state parks just down the road. Myakka River State Park is known for it's large population of alligators and wild life. The State Park campground fills up quickly during season so group camping is popular when they are not having a wedding on the property.
