Calm and shady respite from the crowds

We stayed at site 10 in April 2019 for 3 nights. This site shares a side with site 9 so a little less privacy than site 11. It’s a little hike to the restrooms but the restrooms were clean but not new. There’s a big problem with raccoons in this campground, we had our garbage on the picnic table, we were on the other side of the table and the raccoon just came out of the underbrush and took off with our garbage bag super fast. We were right there! Brazen raccoons. They are super aggressive. That said it’s a great campground, we loved how close it was to St. Augustine but it wasn’t super touristy. The beach was great, clean and surprisingly there was great wifi available at the camp store/beach restrooms. Didn’t like how the camp store closed at 5 pm everyday, had to go to a sketchy gas station to get ice at 9pm... didn’t feel super safe.
