The campground has 139 sites for both RVs and tents, all located within the beautiful maritime hammock and just a short walk or bike ride from the beach. Certain sites are paved and have accessible picnic tables and grills.

All sites have electricity and water, a picnic table, an in-ground grill and a fire ring. A communal dump station is free for park campers. Please put your trash in the compactor near the entrance to the campgrounds.

Anastasia also offers the Bedtime Story Camper Lending Library of picture books for campers ages 4 to 9. Ask to check out a book from the ranger station.

Pets are permitted in accordance with our Pet Policy.
Maximum RV length = 38 feet.
Consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in the park, except for campers who consume alcoholic beverages within their campsites.

Anastasia State Park Campground

We were lucky to snag a site here for two nights in March; the only available site was the handicap accessible site so we called first to make sure we could reserve it. The good news is it is very close to the bathroom which can also be not so good news as people tramped through our site to get to the bathroom! Sites in the Coquina loop all appeared to be generous in size with a reasonable amount of foliage for privacy. Can’t speak about other loops. The bathrooms are clean. Some great amenities include laundry, camp store with souvenirs, bike rentals, drinks, and food. Easy walking or biking distance to a very walkable beach. Close to St. Augustine and the lighthouse.

Many activities to enjoy

We've been to this campground several times and love it each stay. Planning to go back in several months when the weather cools down. The best parts of the campground include clean sites, nice trails to the ocean and also an inlet for kayaking, canoeing, etc. We've also heard that this is a great place to stay while attending a concert / show at the St Augustine Amphitheater.

Great family focused campground

I visited here in August 2014\. The sites are crushed shell and level with plenty of room. There are about 140 sites in 8 loops all with restrooms and laundry conveniently located. The campground was great but not on the beach. You actually have to drive or bike there. There are Canoe and kayak rentals nearby. Also biking is popular here. Since we have a Class C motorhome and wanted to see more, we rented a car. There was plenty to do outside the park as well in St. Augustine. Visit Castillo de San Marcos National Monument or take up some shopping on the old cobblestone streets.

Camping by Historical St. Augustine

Beautiful State Park, probably the prettiest one we've stayed at and we've stayed at alot of state parks.  There are 139 campsites which are very private and beautiful. You can ride bikes or walk to the beach. There are over two miles of beach, life guard was on duty everytime we went. There are rentals (sail boats, paddleboards, kayaks and canoes).  It is located at St. Augustine Florida, which is another beautiful place to visit. I would recommend this park to anyone!!! The only downer is it is hard to get reservations, but if you plan in advance this would be a wonderful trip.

Anastasia State Park, Florida

This is a great park on a barrier island just on the other side of St. Augustine, Florida. I went to college in St. Augustine and spent time at this state park during the day while there. I camped there once while in college but recently revisited the area and stayed here once again.

The park is relatively large and full of people most of the year. I had to wait quite a while to check in, as there was a long line of RVs in front of me. That being said, the sites are nicely spread out and wooded (set back a bit from the beach itself). The beach is a short walk from the sites and is a great place to watch the sunrise.

The facilities are clean and there's a lot happening there. There's a rather large camp store and there was a night of live music happening at one of the pavilions while we stayed there. The campground is also close to the amphitheater and we got to fall asleep to an O.A.R. concert which was actually quite awesome. We got a free concert!

We visited in the fall and the temperature and mosquitos were tolerable. As others have said, the town of St. Augustine is close by (just a short drive over the historic Bridge of Lions) but you can also find everything you need just down the road on the island itself.

Busy

Anastasia State Park is one of my favorite spots in Florida. You are in the woods with great trees but you can hear the ocean. There is so much to do! Beach, kayaking, fishing, bike riding, hikes and if somehow you get bored you can cross the bridge into St. Augustine and have a blast there too. What I love about Anastasia is it backs up to a music venue. There is a path through the woods with a coded gate just for campers to enter the venue.

Typical Florida state park campground

Campsites are wooded with lots of privacy and a short bike ride to beautiful beaches with no crowds. Short drive (less than 10 minutes) to the historic area of St. Augustine. The only negative to the campground is that the sites are dirt and when it rains it's very muddy.

My favorite FL state park

This campground is right on the beach. Our campsite was a decent size and private. There was a gift shop and restaurant at the beach area which was very handy. They had a handicap ramp that went out onto the beach which was very nice for those that may need it. There are kayak rentals available on the bay side. The location of the campground is great and not far from downtown area. The bathrooms at the campsite were rather dirty. That was due to a family washing off the sand in the sinks of the bathroom and leaving trash everywhere though. All in all a nice campground.

Right at the beach 

Campsite was pretty shaded and private on one side. Be sure to check the size of the site to the size of your RV. We fit on our site but wouldn’t have on others. The bathrooms had a backup issue in the shower and it smelled really bad. They repaired the problem the next day. The Campground isn’t walking distance to the beach you'll Need to drive to the parking area. Not and issue but wanted to share since the map makes it look closer than it really is. We had a great time and plan on returning soon.

Located at the beach. Can bike or drive to beach and camp store. Water sport rentals on site. Close to Town. Many places to visit, lighthouse, quarry, distillery... Sites have h2O and electric. Spacious, shady with fire pit and picnic table. Love it and have been going 4th of July week for many years.

My happy place 

If you like beach views, as well as cool historic site, this is the place to camp. It stays nice most of the year, with a few days of cool weather. There are numerous historic sites like the Castillo de San Marco/ the fort, the Old Jail, Ripley's Believe It or Not, the Lightner Museum, the Light House, the Alligator Farm, and the St. Augustine Amphitheater, to name a few. Most of which are within walking or bike riding distance. Many great restaurants abound throughout the city and down St. George Street. At Christmas time there is also the world famous Nights of Lights. There are many ghost tours for the family or you can take the adults only pub crawl ghost tour. Lots of fun to be had and maybe learn some history, or some mystery, at least as it's told.

Very clean and centralized to St. Augustine. 

We had a good time. The facilities are nice and clean. Make sure you have your coolers closed good and strapped for extra security because the raccoons will try to rob you as you sleep.

Nice Quiet Place

Anastasia Island State Park is located in the middle of all that makes St Augustine amazing! It’s a 10 minute drive into the heart of the historic city. The campground is located in the park that has the most beautiful beaches, with dune mountains that peak over the salt marsh as you dry through the park. Living in Florida, I was expecting horrendous mosquitoes in the evening but it has been pleasant surprise not having too many mosquitoes around (It’s August). We have site 33 which is amazing to let the kids play, you can see the playground but still have some privacy from it. I have already booked my return stay for next year!

Great Park! Great Location!

This is by far my most favorite campground in Florida. It is very difficult to get into, but well worth it if you can. It has water and electric with a dump station on the way out. Great place to ride bikes, walk on the beach and visit the great town of St Augustine. Everything is within 10 minutes of your campsite!!

Best campground

stayed for a week and loved it. wife wanted a week stay is st. Augustine and i did not want to spend a ton of money. bathrooms are good. and buffers are good.

great spot for st. Augustine 

This park was better then excepted. All sites are pretty close to the ocean with a beautiful jungle like walk through the sites. Lots of giant trees reaching to the sky. I was able to do some fishing from the beach and caught a Pompano and a handful of Whiting. Lots of places to bike. You can rent kayaks, paddle boards and bikes, or bring your own! Defiantly recommend. 

Amazing campground!

We stayed at site 10 in April 2019 for 3 nights. This site shares a side with site 9 so a little less privacy than site 11. It’s a little hike to the restrooms but the restrooms were clean but not new. 
There’s a big problem with raccoons in this campground, we had our garbage on the picnic table, we were on the other side of the table and the raccoon just came out of the underbrush and took off with our garbage bag super fast. We were right there! Brazen raccoons. They are super aggressive.
That said it’s a great campground, we loved how close it was to St. Augustine but it wasn’t super touristy. The beach was great, clean and surprisingly there was great wifi available at the camp store/beach restrooms. Didn’t like how the camp store closed at 5 pm everyday, had to go to a sketchy gas station to get ice at 9pm... didn’t feel super safe. 

Calm and shady respite from the crowds

We have camped at this beautiful park in St. Augustine many times in the past. It’s on the ocean with a beautiful beach. The park has lots of mature magnolia trees. You will need to bring outdoor rugs as the sites are mostly dirt. Loads of things to do and see in the town of old St. Augustine!

We love  Anastasia!  This campground has a few small hiking trails, parking near the beach, a playground, and a small store with a grill/restaurant attached.  The beach is pristine and has easy access.  You can walk down around the Cape for some good exercise. 

Camping Near the beach

Anastasia State park is a wonderfully relaxing state park. The beach is very clean and scenic. But beware because we did encounter a Portuguese Man O' War, but the park ranger was able to safely remove it. I enjoyed riding bikes around the different campgrounds. The bath houses were clean and had a good amount of room. I would have liked the camp site to have a little more privacy, but overall a good stay.

Clean, sandy, relaxing

Anastasia state park was a great first time camping experience. When you come in you meet the rangers at the front gate they were very nice and welcoming. . They give you a map and explain where the campsite is , the paper they give you has important phone numbers and the rules of the park. Our campsite is in a loop with a total of six campsites. It was very clean, the campsites have trees surrounding them also a canopy of trees blocking out the sun so it’s not too hot during the summer. We camped in August so it was hot but not unbearable. We had 3 neighbors who were quiet  and respectful of noise after 11. The bathrooms are very close to each campground, they are very clean. The janitorial services are there early morning and at night , they do an amazing job. We went kayaking and saw dolphins, sea turtles , ospreys and all kinds of fish. The view from the water sports bay was beautiful. There are also other water sport options if you don’t care to kayak. There are nature trails and the ranger has educational talks at specific times in the day. The beach was beautiful we went to see the sunrise and during the day and at night to look at the moon. There is a restaurant in the park near the beach if you don’t want to grill. The restaurant is also a small shop if you need something. There are also food trucks right at the entrance of the park. We went to dinner our last night in the beautiful little town of St. Augustine. Overall we had a great time the only thing I would change is camping instead during the fall and winter weather, less mosquitoes and cooler temperatures.

Anastasia Island State Park is nestled between the mighty Atlantic and quaint historic St. Augustine, Florida. This state park is teeming with wildlife and has a boatload (get it??) of amenities. From kayak rentals to live music, you don’t want to miss this lovely state park. The campground loops and spacious and quiet. There are many that are all within walking distance of the ocean. Try hiking to the Amphitheater or check out the old coquina quarry.

Anastasia State Park Florida. Delightful. We were in site 84 which the ranger said was the best site. Restrooms were clean, hot water was very limited as 3 of us rushed through our chilly showers. Campsites are laid out very nicely with lots of foliage between. The beach is amazing and what we went for.

Delightful

We stayed at site 95 at the beginning of March 2020. This was our 2nd time at the park and we plan on coming here again in the future. The bathrooms are of the older model of state park bathrooms for Florida, but they are kept clean. We love that they have a dish sink/laundry sink at each comfort station (in addition to the laundry machines).
During this time, we didn’t see many bugs, but my husband did get bit once, I don’t think mosquitoes, another type of bug?
The beach access; you do have to drive to, but there is plenty of parking and the beach is vast. The gift shop/washrooms at the beach also have free wifi (and you can pick it up in your car from the parking spots!).
Every site we stay in here has great privacy and they are quite clean.

This spot has a ton of sites and since it is situated near an Amphitheatre if you plan ahead you can camp here and walk to the show! If you are looking for quiet, check the show schedule at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre though. 

  

The park offers the beach and a nice area of water known as Salt Run (good for paddle boarding or kayaking) there are hiking trails in the dunes and Downtown St. Augustine is about ten minutes away.

Near the beach, in thewoods, not far from town and free music. 

Great park for tent camping and small motorhomes. We are 37 feet and only 5 sites were able to accommodate us mainly due to tree branches and large overhanging limbs. It's quiet and there's a large amount of vegetation between sites.

Awesome state park

We really enjoyed our weekend stay here! Very clean bathrooms, beautiful nature trails, and the campground is conveniently located near just about anything a camper would need! Only downside- though dogs are allowed on the campground they aren’t allowed on their section of the beach- so if you want to bring your pups to swim with you you’ll have to drive about 5 minutes to another beach entrance.

A Clean, Comfortable Campground

Love this park. Sites are pretty private. We walk to historic downtown. Our favorite restaurants are Osteens (cash only &amp; can be 1hour wait). Columbia restaurant is very special and PET FRIENDLY. Enjoyed pizza at Mello-Mushroom. Mojo Tacos was real good. Anastasia Kitchen was also real good (cash or check only). St Augustine is our go out to eat camping trip.

Anastasia State Park - Florida

Easy to get to and close to everything! If you’re a beach lover, this is a great campground. All of the sites are shaded with fire rings, water hookups, picnic tables, and lantern holders. Most sites offer a fair bit of privacy for you set up camp properly. Each loop has a clean restrooms, laundry facilities with a clothes line and Coquina (the loop we stayed on) had a playground. 

Would recommend bicycles to get to the beach and either SUPs or kayaks to paddle the salt run at high tide. I’d you don’t have your own, they rent them there. There’s also a beach grill and convenience store by the beach. 

If you’re an early bird, watching the sunrise from the beach is quite a nice way to start the day!

Awesome spot by the beach

Arrived after a cross-state expedition to stay for two nights. On the way, changed from #14 to #20 sight unseen and kinda wished hadn't done it because #14 is closer to the restroom facility. This is a well-organized park with ranger patrols, inner bays, and spectacular beaches. However, be prepared to deal with mosquitoes and a range of very bold night life critters. On night one, a family of raccoons were doing the rounds around the site, successfully opening our neighbor's tent's zipper, entering, and stealing a pack of cookies. He was caught in the act and ran away. Also, possums were crawling around, as well as armadillos. The restrooms were adequate. The beaches were amazing with pinkish sand, spread out and spacious. Outstanding beaches, wow. By the way, the password to the WiFi at the beach is: 725e5znpye69

Well organized, great beaches, watch out for "night life": it's wild!

The best beach in Florida , wide, pink sand ,  felt like my private beach. Great small restaurant at the beach with WiFi.  No lifeguard on open waters! Camping sites have water and electricity. It is must park to visit 😍😎

Beautiful beach 🏝 

Anastasia State Park is the perfect location to hit the beach during covid times! There are NO crowds. Site 92 was beautiful, just tight. Every single one of the sites were beautiful.  We did appreciate being by the path to the bathroom facilities. Even though we were the closest site, it was still a decent walk. Also, we really appreciated the large outdoor sink and counter space at the facilities. We had surprise water problems with our camper, so that was our dish washing location. The drive-on beaches are an excellent way to mark your territory and keep your distance from others. Especially further down the 4 wheel drive only beaches! We had so much space! I only have one con from Anastasia State Park, but it's a big enough con that I had to take away a star. The ants were awful. They were everywhere. Its been 2 months since our stay, and we are still trying to rid the ants from all our camping equipment. We will definitely be back,  but I really need them to get these ants under control. Enjoy your stay!! 

Perfect Getaway

So in reading earlier reviews let me start by saying this is Florida and as a native I’ve come to terms with bugs, no where in the state to completely avoid them, so I embrace the “suck”:)The park has changed from when I was a child and tent camped there many Easter weekends. A1A used to bisect the park and separated the campground from the beach making for a game of “Frogger” to go for a swim. That has changed and for many years now that section of road is a dead end park road that only park visitors can use. The other change is the St. Augustine Ampitheater used to be an attraction called “The Sword and the Cross.” Both these changes have been an improvement. The beach has something all Florida beaches should have, a wheelchair path across the sugar sand, making it accessible for all. Sooo many sites here all look very inviting with lots of shade and yet very hard to get reservations which should tell you something about how beloved this park is to so many. Pro tip if there is a band playing that you like but can’t get a ticket the proximity to the campground is such you can take a beach chair and a can of bug spray and listen to the concert. That concert though may be why there will be no availability in the campground. Bring bikes as it’s an easy ride into St.Augustine and much less stressful to navigate the narrow streets and scarce parking. Lighthouse is a landmark on that bike ride worth the slight detour.

Very private camp sites, water and electric hook ups, walk to the beach, quiet and friendly and not a thing to complain about.

  

Has both tent and RV sties, bathrooms and a store (though not much in it). Dogs or any other pets are NOT allowed don the beach. Leashed animals ok in campground area. Would definitely stay again. Lucked out an got a spot for the night by reserving the night before...otherwise booked!

These campsites offer a serene amount of privacy with the space the campgrounds are working with. It’s not a backcountry hike, definitely a drive-up campground but the foliage and large campsites provide a lot of privacy throughout the day and night. Close walk to the beach and other trails. Bathrooms are clean and good working condition. Also close and far enough from some outings that provide live music. What more do you want?

Privacy within Nature

We’ve come through twice during the night of lights. After a short walk around to see the lights Anastasia is a great place to retreat. Osprey tacos and the adjoining Old Coast Ales is a great spot just outside the park entrance. Mostly quiet park during our stays. Hot showers are nice. Nice beach. 

Come for the lights, stay for the tacos  

Anastasia State Park near St. Augustine Florida is a true gem.  Immaculately kept, it is clean and well managed.  The sites are big and spacious. Most of the ones we saw were very level and all are shaded. The amount of vegetation between many of the sites make you feel as if you are all alone in a pristine Florida maritime forest.  The nature trail is very beautiful, easy to walk, and very interesting.  At the beach, the boardwalk leads over the dunes to a wide, pristine, undeveloped Atlantic beach. There is a small camp store and snack bar at the end of the parking lot at the beach.  You can bike to the lighthouse from the campground, and the old city of St. Augustine is a few miles away.  We stayed in site 139 at the end of the Coquina loop. The pictures show three sides of the rv to give you an idea of how secluded the site felt.  Wonderful place!

What every State Park should strive to be.

The campground is nice and large. It's is close to town so if you are looking for a nature experience away from people this is not the place. The racoons here are very bold and will come up to your table the minute you turn your back. I e night we had to keep chasing one away. The squirrels are bold too.

Bathrooms were nice and clean. Plenty of hot water and they are continuous. The beach was beautiful but the waters seemed very rough. Make sure you take bug spray, the mosquitoes will get you and we were there in early October. 

Racoons will eat your food!!!

The reason it’s booked up all the time is because it’s so damn awesome. Husband and I began camping here together 24 years ago when we could call on a Thursday and get a spot for the weekend. The location is perfect and the facilities have all been redone. It’s a pretty magical place with private sites, direct ocean access, and is o my minutes to Downtown St Augustine. We can’t get enough.

Pretty close to perfect.

We're not very experienced campers yet, but I can't imagine finding a much better spot than this! The campsites were clean and well maintained, but maybe a bit close together. Not a ton of privacy here. The facilities were a bit dated maybe, but also clean and fully functional. But the best part is obviously the location. Proximity to the beautiful beach is obviously a big reason to camp here, and it definitely delivers. But the close access to beautiful, historic St Augustine was better than I expected, plenty of things to see and do. We camped here on the recommendation of some experienced camping friends and they nailed it, so now I'm recommending it to you! We will definitely camp here again!  
  
One word of warning -- Racoons! HUGE Racoon population in this park. They'll get in your trash, so don't leave any unattended. They'll get into your cooler if it doesn't have very strong latches. They are going to come at night and forage for leftovers, so put everything away including your trash!

Wonderful camping site!

To kick off our snow fledgling trip we spent 2 weeks at Anastasia SP in St. Augustine Florida. This has SP has many reviews. There are several loops, for tents and RVs. We had electric and water. Most sites have some foliage and privacy. A few sites fit big rigs if you pull in just right. See photo. Bathouses clean but not heated so very cold in January. Two of three washers out of order. Lots of good bike trails. Atlantic Beach access from park. Fun to ride for miles on sand at low tide. Park backs up to Amphitheater. We heard 2 good concerts without paying any$$. Good thing we enjoyed the music! They played til 10pm Friday and Saturday night. People camped next to us specifically for the concert.

Oldest city, Beach and Camping

We stopped in for a weekend during the cooler Florida months.  Was nice to sit by the fire.  Lots of privacy.  Restrooms clean.  Music at an amphitheater close by was nice at night.

Lovely even in winter

Many campgrounds in Florida offer either a beach or tree canopy campsite but not both. Anastasia is one of the few that has both and is very well maintained.

Most of the campsites in this State Park have oak tree canopies with the hanging spanish moss that give it a soothing shady feel.

The beach is a short car ride away (or decent walk but not too far).

My visit was for tent camping but the sites have full hookups and there is a dump station for RVers.

My Favorite Campground in Florida

Had a gem of a spot #36. Tons of shade big space lots of privacy. The beach is great and downtown at Augustine is 5 minutes away.  

Beware raccoons here they are bold and continue to approach you even if you are walking at them.

Great staff

This park is now the standard by which I will judge all other state parks. I haven't seen its equal anywhere in the US. I would give it ten stars if I could.

When I first pulled in, I saw a sign with a braggadocios statement along the lines of "Florida state parks: the best state parks in the country." This was my first night ever in Florida, so I thought to myself "yeah, well, we'll see about that."  If all Florida's state parks are this good, though, that may not be hyperbole.

First off, the park is a destination in itself. It has excellent bike paths and walking trails, as well as a lovely beach within walking distance of the campground. There is also an abundance of small lizards and large tortoises, both very entertaining to watch.

The campground, however, is superb. It is cut out of the jungle, so every site has abundant shade and privacy. Some sites are better than others, of course, but I didn't see any that looked unattractive. Bathrooms are well sited, spacious, nicely designed, and clean. All in all, I couldn't find anything to complain about, which is rare.

That said, reserving your campsite in advance would be a good idea here. The only reason I was able to stay three nights was because someone else cancelled. In this case, however, the campground's popularity is well deserved. Well done, Florida.

Magnificent 

First time camping at this location and we loved it. Wide level sites with good privacy.  Bath house was nearby, which was fairly clean and good water pressure.  We were expecting to deal with the pesky mosquitoes, but didn’t notice them at all.  The dump stations were clean and they even provide disposable gloves.  The only cons are cell phone service was weak and it’s a long trek to the beach.  Overall, great place to go camping…really close to everything.

Anastasia State Park is a great park with beach access and the amphitheater venue near by will sing you to sleep. Sites are spread out nicely. Water and electric available. Bath house is appropriately placed and clean.

We loved how the beach was so near and you could just drive up there and spend the day in the day use area. Super friendly people. 

Lovely place - amazing beach 

You really can have it all at this campground - with its 'next door' proximity to one of the most amazing beachheads on Florida's Atlantic coastline and quick access to the country's oldest town (St. Augustine) to the countless nautical activities on the nearby Intracoastal all within a very well-maintained and organized campground that provides great privacy and, most important here in Florida, lots of shade, from the sweltering heat and scorching sun. Whether you are an all natural camper who prefers tents or rocking up with a mobile living room-encased RV, this campground is perfect for beach lovers, nature activists as well as those that want to experience a bit of old world historic charm that the nearby town has to offer. 

  

As for the campground itself, I discovered that this place has a masterplan that has been carefully thought through, so there are a number of different 'neighborhoods' (some specifically designed for RV's, with others held for tent camping, and yet others that blend the two) that offer a simple circular loop for each mini-camping subdivision. The roads themselves are first rate and the grounds that you will be living on for a few days be-speckled with powdery sand atop firmly packed soil (not the sort of fluffy sand dunes that you might expect next to a beach). There is incredibly lush vegetation and ground cover everywhere (which shouldn't be a surprise as you are in FL after all!) providing a sense of privacy and separation, yet somehow still a communal connection with the rest of the camping community via the roads, pathways and trails you'll come across. 

  

Amenities for each of the campsites is fairly standard: fire ring, water spigot, electrical outlets (in some, not all sites) and a picnic table (all seem to be in relatively good working order, although the fire rings are dated). Onsite bathroom amenities are just barely tolerable and incredibly basic - you won't be impressed by what you find on this front, and may want to consider a nice ocean bathe instead! And while you may be coming here just for the camping, I'm sure you have been lured here by being positioned just a short walk to the beach, which is incredibly well organized and maintained. It has 2-3 separate wooden walkways that will take you directly to the beachhead. 

  

There's a brilliant cafe here serving up traditional bar food (burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, fish and chips, etc.) as well as offering various rentals from golf cars (which you will discover become incredibly useful as you zip back and forth between beach and campsite) as well as kayaks, inter tubes, etc. There's also a small playground and park here for the kiddos to run around and play on. As for the ocean, while we were there, despite the parking lot being completely filled, the beach itself wasn't crowded at all and it was easy to simply walk 50 feet away to find a patch of sand that wasn't busy. 

  

Given the ocean's currents and underwater dunes, there's some pretty unique features here at this beach, including 'double roller' waves that are especially strong and produce rip currents, so be careful if you're surfing, body-boarding or have little ones wanting to tackle the waves. Away from the beach and heading past the campground entrance, but yet still within Anastasia Sate Park itself, you'll come across a rental kiosk that has paddle boards, kayaks and canoes available by the hour(s) or for the full day. Right in front of the store you have direct access to the Intracoastal, which in contrast to the ocean, will be flat, serene and dark, complete with tons of nature and wildlife to spy on. Keep heading west down this road, you'll eventually pass the Ranger Station and exit the park, where you'll find a few food trucks and a surf shop for all your beach-faring needs. 

  

Keep heading west on the main road and you'll have access to the Alligator Farm, several restaurants, bars, ice cream stands and small boutiques and shops. Cross the bridge from Anastasia Island to the mainland, and you'll be planted firmly in the oldest town in the country, which will have you exploring century's old architecture from cobble-stone streets featuring quaint boutiques, bar patios brimming with inebriated patrons and a nice variety of seafaring restaurants.

Surf & Turf in Northern Florida

Great park

From the friendly and helpful rangers to the quiet and spacious camp spots, it's no wonder this park is so highly rated.

All sites have electric and water, plus there are bathrooms with showers on-site.  Beach access also has a shop, restaurant, wifi, and you can rent chairs, umbrellas, canoes, kayaks, etc.  

I'm traveling on a small van but the sites are big enough for 38' rigs, there's a dump site, and some great pavilions for group gatherings.  

Love this place, will definitely be back on my next time through!

Favorite Spot This Year!

We really loved this state park. The sites are tucked into the palmetto and live oak trees hung with Spanish Moss. It feels like wilderness camping. 
Large sites, large campground, beach isn’t that great, but City of Saint Augustine beach is nearby.
