Nice and private

The spots were excellent. Calm and clean. The bathroom was a disaster. That’s about all I have to say about that.

this campground listing is a duplicate of Lathrop lake state park. That one will take you to the correct website. This entry is incorrect.

Quick overnight in passing

We really enjoyed the drive along the Enchanted Circle, vert pretty, super scenic. We pulled into Ponderosa Campground around midnight on a Saturday, and there were plenty of spots available, with easy self pay station. Woke up to some beautiful views!

Don’t trust Dyrt directions

I’m sure there is beautiful camping in the area because it’s gorgeous out here, but after having to camp high up on an extremely rocky trail, I learned 2 lessons:

  1. Don’t enter at night
  2. Don’t trust directions via Dyrt + Google Maps

Very nice campground with full RV hookups

This is a great campground with top notch amenities. We enjoyed the laid back time we spent here looking at Fishers Peak. Nice to be that close to the lake. One thing to keep in mind, from the campsites there isn’t great access to the lake, you’ll need to come in From the East entrance to the park…

Quiet Colorado Rv park

Easy online reservations. Great spot in the middle of a Colorado mountain town. When I arrived I was greeted by the owner who let me pick my spot (due to my original spot having a little mud on it) much appreciated. Was given help backing up and getting to know the layout of the park. All in all a…

A friendly place to stop and recharge

The Raton KOA is conveniently located off I-25 in Raton, NM. The campground offers of a mixture of back-in and pull through sites that are a mix of mostly live gravel and dirt. Most sites have 20/30 amp service, water, and septic hookups, although less expensive sites with fewer amenities are also…

We stayed here for 10 days during the “off season” at the end of April. It was beautiful and quiet. The snow was melting and the river was beautiful. George and Chris very friendly and helpful. The showers and laundry were clean and beautiful. And the town was a short walk away with great…

Great Lake and trails

Lake Alice campground is really close to a paved road where people drive too fast and the sites are really close together. They are not actually on Lake Alice. I enjoyed the lake and the hiking but opted out of staying in my reserved site.

Wide Open Spaces

Eagles Nest Lake State park campsites are pretty wide open like the valley it is in. There is a nice cement pad with an awning and fire pit. Not much else and I wouldn't recommend it for tent campers. There were a few people braving the cool nights and crisp mornings. Water available when you drive…

Don't let the drive in fool you.

Mountains, lake, prairie dogs, deer...a little piece of heaven. Here in the off season, had the campground to ourselves. No power, no sewer, pit toilets. Loved this place!

Lathrop State Park has a little of everything

We have visited this park several times, in the summer, spring and fall. The campground provides a nice visitors center, two small lakes (one non-wake), a sand beach, paved and unpaved bike trails, fishing, a kids fishing pond, trails, and electric or no-hook-up camping. The campground is divided…

Last minute solution, full bars

It’s places like this that make me realize this how possible Van Life is!

I rolled in at 9pm when I had reservation issues else where, after finding this online at 830pm. There are full bars and open spaces. I felt bad rolling in to the lot because there were other people set up and tucked in. A…
