Be sure to check the map and terrain to pick your site. Point has no shade, but Lake Hasty has shade and trees. Nice easy walk to the dam. Dumpsters, toilets, water pumps present. Campsite was $18 and park fee was $9.
$20 for campsite plus $9 fee if you don’t hold a Colorado State Park pass, total $29 for no electric or water and pit toilets not near campsites. No shade at the “Pointe”. It’s a dam on the Arkansas River set in the prairie. Buggy. No easy access to the water near campground. Smell of cattle feed…
We camped here in mid May during the week. We were one of only 5 campers in the entire campground. It is dry camping so come prepared. It is also wide open with trees only off in the far distance. If it is windy, which it often is in eastern Colorado, come prepared. During the summer the sun…
Low light pollution, closest water is at Hasty campsite 10 minute drive away. No wind shelters on picnic tables. Mosquitos can drain a cow in 15 minutes. Bring Deep Woods Off. Closest campsite was about 100 feet away.
Initially made reservations at the point campground. There is NO shade. Cancelled and remade for Lake Hasty campground. Had a good time. Visited in spring, but it was HOT!! Very glad to have had the shade. Lots of owls. Lots of birds to watch. Bathrooms were a bit of a walk, but we were right next…

I'm not sure what you'd do for more than a day in La Junta, but this was a great overnight spot for us in late September. (Old Bent's Fort is worth the side trip). Not crowded and restrooms were clean. Nice pull through sites, cute older playground, and a pool if you're in season. Late arrival…

Quiet. Secluded. Safe. Beautiful sunsets. Stopped off for an overnight on the way to Great Sand Dunes NP. So glad we found this place. Highly recommend.
Was here for a month while working expensive for a month stay but staff was friendly, try to stay towards the back unless you like hearing a carwash at all hours. Has a small creek that is at the edge of the park was very nice while on nightly walks around park. Spaces are decently sized some have…
We come to this reservoir all the time! They do a have a boat ramp and a few “beaches” to set up at if you want. But it’s covered in bugs. I know I know, that’s what camping is about BUT they are just annoying! Takes me a good hour after each trip to vacuum they all up out of the camper after each…

Got there late at night. There was a tweaker man with a shotgun who did not seem friendly. Really scared and had to leave
Very nice clean and convenient campground. Sites are well equipped and the prices are very affordable. We’ll stop here again.
Very large open gravel and prairie area. Long drive from there entrance to sites on gravel roads. Sites near water are still about 100-200 yards from the water. Lots of wind, no trees. The basic sites have a table, grill, parking pad, and tent pad, all on gravel. The area is very large so getting…
Basic Camping beside lake. No facilities but free. Both times I have stopped here it has had open space.
