Great Campground!

Stayed here for one night on a Saturday in August, and this place is great! So many amenities, activities, large, clean sites, and everyone is respectful and friendly. We were here about a year after the huge fire on the western edge of RMNP, and it’s definitely still burned, so don’t expect…

Camping at Diamond Lake

Took the Forth of July Trail to Diamond Lake for some camping and fishing. Ended up camping for 4 nights. Aside from a few random hikers throughout the day, I pretty much had the place to myself. Great fishing

Not bad for a night or two

We foolishly thought we might find a dispersed spot at Vedauwoo in mid-July and were disappointed, but not really surprised. We had another pin dropped on our map for the dry camping at Government Gully Rd and headed there in the late afternoon.

The road in is pretty good, our low slung front…

Grassy tents and good night sleep! Even during Pioneer days!

We went into the office and asked if there was tent site available and they said."Yes!" We got a nice tent site in the corner of the park. We were close to the showers and bathroom. There are laundry facilities and free wifi. It was a little spendy, but worth it.

Feel remote while close to town

Not far outside of Estes Park, but far enough up the side of a mountain to enjoy the wilderness. Sites spaced nicely apart, very well maintained, great fire pits with an attached grill grate. Moose and black bear apparently frequent but haven't caused any problems. This is our 3rd stay here, and…

Hard to get a site

We got there on a Tuesday around 3:00. There was one spot in the campground proper, but dang it was so windy and there was no buffer from the wind which is likely why it was still available. We didn’t stay. We drove through the extra land spots. It was super rough terrain and they were all occupied…

Fourth of July trailhead to Diamond Lake

You can access this trail from the Nederland side of the mountain. On this side of the mountain, there are more people. If you want a more secluded experience, try accessing from the west side. I'd only recommend doing this trail from late June - early September as the snow can lead to very…

Great spot for access to ROMO

Decent sized campsites. Cleanest pit toilets we had come across. Camp host/manager frequently circulating to make sure bathrooms were clean. Only improvement would be another water access point on Loop.

Amazing people and BBQ

I would have given this place a 5 if it wasn’t for the lack of views. The people that run the park are salt of the earth. I ran out of ice and they started their machine for a single bag and then I ask what I owed them and they said “don’t worry about it, it’s ice” they certainly have some of the…

Super campground

We stayed here for 3 nights with our 23ft motorhome. It is a easy accessible spacious campground that is well maintained. The host is very friendly and helpful.

Nice State park with several lakes

Hard to find a spot, at least in the summer, so book ahead. We had to play musical campsite thru out our week stay. Clean and pleasant. No laundry facilities though.
