Dispersed camping FSR 239

We found great dispersed spots along FSR 239. Roads were gravel and a little rough in some spots, but plenty of camping accessible by smaller cars as well. Lots of OHV trails nearby. 

Plenty of spots left Labor Day weekend. Nice tree cover and distance between other campers. Sites had natural fire pit rings and fallen trees nearby for firewood. Not as much OHV noise as we expected but we did leave to go to the reservoir to fish during the day. We loved the large sites and the sunsets at night. Disappointed to find some garbage and broken glass at our spot, but didn’t take away from our weekend. Vault toilets about 15 minute drive away if needed. 

Great dispersed camping

I camped here for two nights and in different places each night. Not because I didn’t like my first sight but because there is so much to explore! There are so many different places to settle in and Terryall Lake was about a 20 minute drive from where I camped. So much space to hike and explore. Also the wood from the trees smells wonderful to burn I did not know I could ever enjoy smoke that much 😂 only downside is beware of the flies... be prepared because there were so many!

County Road 239 dispersed camping.

Once you turn off Tarryall Road before you go up the hill, you need to stop and immediately take a look at the waterfall cascading down on your right hand side that flows out of Tarryall reservoir and feeds Tarryall Creek.
Once you get to 239 the road is pretty rough. It’s designated for OHV‘s so there is noise in the area. The sites are fairly wide-open at the top so they’re great for big rigs. 
Lots of broken glass and cans so cleanup may be required

The coordinates take you to the intersection with 239B. There is no sign of a camping area around there. Everything on the west side slopes down too much and on the east side there is no motor vehicle access and no areas to camp.
