14 remote camping sites scattered across the high ridge of the Santa Rosa Mountain offer isolated scenic campsites ideal for tent and car camping or a relaxing picnic far from the crowds. A fire ring and a picnic table is available at each site, however these sites do NOT contain many amenities found at developed campgrounds. Water is available only at Santa Rosa Spring Yellow Post Site 3 & 4, the only restroom is located near Yellow Post Sites 10 - 14. Trash containers are not provided, please pack it in - pack it out! All sites are first-come, first-served. Campfire permits are required for any type of fire use - campfires, charcoal BBQ's, or propane or liquid fuel stoves. Campfires may not be allowed during high fire danger, generally July through December. Please see "Current Conditions" below. These Yellow Post Sites are reached via Forest Road 7S02 (Santa Rosa Truck Trail). 7S02 is an unpaved road which may not be suitable for all vehicles. Santa Rosa Yellow Post Sites

It is a ROCKY drive to get up to this sites and I recommend 4WD but once you're there, it is worth it. The views from some of the sites are gorgeous and there is very light traffic. There is water at one of the sites that is shared with all of them. No bathrooms but what do you expect from a yellow post site? Great fire pit, picnic table, and flat spot for our tent. Definitely recommend for anyone trying to get away from the mass amounts of people in California.

Off the Beaten Path with Beautiful Views

Just wow! Amazing place! For sure you’ll need a 4 wheel drive to get up there. There is like 50 minutes of off road before getting to the camp sites. It’s around 10 degrees colder than the road since it is in altitude. Bring warm clothes ;)
