Wonderful Campground, Avoid 32 &34

Great location, centrally located for exploring both Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks.

Nicely shaded spots and the higher elevation is nice for cooler nights during the hot summer months.

Great views of the sunset from the back of the campground.

Grant Grove Village is very close by…

Up north of chuchupate campground

This place is extremely roomy. Lots of place to set up different campground equipments. You get shade and partial sun. Very relaxing and out of other campgrounds although you will get dirt bikes going in and out during the day time. This place is good for hiking around the canyons, hunting, sight…

Pretty Site!

First time to Sequoia/Kings Canyon and was offered this site on recreation.gov. Although this site was VERY far from the parks, it was pretty and remote. The Site Host Vicky was kind and gave us a good tip on swimming behind the Stoney creek store. Only camp here if you love driving, don’t mind a…

Amazing campsite

Everything was great about this campground. Showers, phones service, WiFi, showers and locks with passcode on the bathroom doors and a pool just to name a few things. Weather was great and we loved everything about staying here.

Lovely Site With a Great Tent Pad Along the River

Stayed in Site 78 in the upper part of Lodgepole, which was perfect. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, no one was in the site next to us. (That one, site 74, seemed really cramped. Someone had moved the picnic table to the tent pad, but there wasn't really much space to move it anywhere else. If…

  • Sunset from Lodgepole site 78, looking toward site 73 and 72.
  • Site 78. Big tent pad. This is with a 4-person tent. Rocks around fire pit were handy to sit on. River is in background, down a little embankment. Easy walk.
  • Lodgepole site 78. You can see the table on the tent pad of neighboring site 74, which does not appear to be in use during the 2020-2021 pandemic.

River Sites

Great, clean place only 6 miles from Sequoia National Park entrance. This place has sites where you can back up to the river, is clean, has nice dog park area, nice fire pits & courteous staff.

  • Sheba on her way to the river
SiteRiver site, don’t recal site number but they are all good spots.

I’m giving it a 2 for scenery, -3 as almost no one can make it there

So I gave it an extra star because the closer you get, the more beautiful the scenery - but I never made it all the way. The description of the road is a bit deceptive. There’s 7+ miles paved but bumpy, tight turns, and quite a bit is barely one car wide. People were polite about working it out to…

Great stop but a bit pricey

I have a rooftop tent and the tent area wasn’t such that my car could be parked at my spot so got a water only RV site at $45/night. Electricity would have almost doubled that. However, it does have a pool, showers, clean restrooms, doggie play area, mini store, and laundry if that wasn’t out of…

Nothing like the pics. No green grass in sight.

Sadly, the park was dry and desolate. It is evident that the owners are scraping by to either keep this park open or just too cheap to water the grass. There is no green grass in sight, except at the office. Therefore you will be camping on gravel surrounded by dirt. Extremely unlevel sites. …

Beautiful and Remote

We loved our stay at this campground. It was beautiful, quite and the camp host was incredibly kind. My only complaint is that we were very far from any good hikes. My partner and I ended up driving 3hours to Sequoia NP so we could get a good one in. However, if you want a nice, lazy weekend in the…

Easy to get to, large sites, dump sit and water

Great location in Joshua Tree but 20 minutes from west entrance. Large pull through sites semi-level. Clean restrooms with flush toilets and running water. Good TV and cell service, close to Yucca City. It does get very windy making it uncomfortable to sit outside. Great hiking trails from…
