This place is actually not bad to camp. If you look well you can find nice spots. Went there for a night only just to check out the place. Will definitely go back when the river has water!!!
We tried a couple of other dispersed camp sites before this one but they were all full. A AWD would be best for this area because of the deep sand. I did make it back aways with my Prius, to my surprise. I did get stuck once but got out pretty easily. But if had rained while I was here that might…
My wife and I stayed here in early May 2021. This was our second time at Paso Picacho after visiting here a few years ago. We were even more impressed this time around. I can't say enough about this place. The grounds are serene and well kept, the atmosphere is relaxed and most of the campers were…
Was able to score a site that fit our 28’ trailer- joke was on us... there was NO way it could’ve worked, not to mention there was not a single other trailer, only tents. Headed back to the ranger and they gave us an open disabled spot (we have a placard) in the horse camp. It was AMAZING. Large…

Lovely place. Feels much further away than it actually was, which is great when you’re traveling with young kids! Awesome playground only a short walk from our trailer camp spot (#16 which had a huge tree that made parking a little tricky) that had a great little secluded table/fire ring spot! Good…

Gets hot early in the year so as always bring extra water. It was walking distance from a hike that leads to a little oasis which I definitely recommend going to, to beat the heat! Sunsets and star views are incredible. Nice large camp spaces.
I love these campgrounds. It is so beautiful and plenty of space for camping here.
Arrived after dark (5/8/21). Six big RVs and one tenter in this big campground. Trees provide shade; some sites have ramadas. Water available throughout. The beach has a moonscape quality. Sunrise over the lake lovely. Trains go by during the night (tracks are very close by), but didn't bother me.…
This is a bible study campground. I’m not sure if it is open to the public.
Clean, well-maintained facilities. They currently have running water and showers.
It still got below freezing in late May, so be prepared for colder temperatures.
$28/night with tent only and RV only campsites.
We came on a sunday in February and the store was closed nor did we have interaction with any staff, was rather quiet and we loved it. The camp sight was nice and bathroom facilities clean. Had alot to offer at this location.
Nice drive just outside the city, great trail and all the necessary amenities. We will definitely be back!
Yaqui wash (valley) is nothing more than a big flat parking lot off the road in the desert. Not much there really. Yaqui Well on the other hand is very nice-real desert camping with a variety of vegetation and terrain. Night and day difference! Two really nice well documented hikes near Yaqui Well,…
What an amazing place. Just be sure to pack what you need as there is very few bathrooms and it gets realllll cold at night. But the sunsets and the off roading made it worth it!

Spontaneously went here to camp for the weekend. We arrived late Friday night and still found a spot for three cars. There were four other groups, but by morning they were gone. As expected it was very hot during the day and windy at night, but the small, one-mile hike was very much worth it.…
