Quiet camp

We spent one night a Cattle Camp and enjoyed the stopover. The campground was empty compared to Fowler’s just down the road. Lots of space between sites, plenty of shade, and rather level. You can access the McCloud River trail from Camp which gave us the chance to stretch our legs and wear out…

Great spot away from everything

I stayed here numerous times as a young kid and teen with my family. We lived in Susanville and would go here to get out of the town and feel closer to nature and experience it all. The sites are walk in so be ready to pack what you need with you. The wildlife possibilities seem endless and it's a…

Great spot in Lassen Volcanic NP

On our honeymoon, my wife and I stopped in Lassen Volcanic NP. We were blown away. So gorgeous. This was one of the only campgrounds open at the end of May. Most sites were filled on a Monday night. We did not have a reservation but I would recommend making one. The sites are right next to each…

Beautiful Spot

My wife and I stayed here before moving on to Lassen Volcanic NP. We stayed here on a Monday night (it was our honeymoon) so we were the only ones here. There was a really cool, fast flowing creek running through the campsite. Just a gorgeous spot in the forest with toilets if you need them.

Close to the Highway

Of all the campgrounds at Eagle Lake this is the least appealing. It sits quite far from the lake on a dry, dusty hill. There is one pit toilet bathroom and there is less shade with less trees. It does have the advantage of being very close to highway 139 and would be a good spot to stop for the…

Further from the Lake

One of several campgrounds at Eagle Lake this one sits up on a hill under the trees and is a little further from the water. Lots of pull through sites are nice. Camp host on site. Many tall pines provide shade.

Super friendly staff!

Super nice staff!! They remembered us after only staying here twice which means they take pride in the care for their customers. We love that we can tent camp by the water!

Will definitely recommend to anyone!

In Sight of the Lake

One of several campgrounds at Eagle Lake. We like this one because there are several spots close to the water and in the sun. In the heat of the summer there are plenty of spots deep under the thick pine trees that shade the area. In the shoulder seasons it's nice to camp in a sunny spot or at…

Cute

This is a former Boy Scout campground. It has a vault toilet. No trash, no faucets. There’s a creek where the road first meets the campground. Potable water. Fire restrictions based on regional signage. I’ve had fires here. Plenty of wood in surrounding area but you can’t buy it, forage only.…

Awesome!

I can’t say enough good things about this campground. Fowler’s was 100% full but as of later on a Thursday in mid-May here we have an entire loop to ourselves. Rain/showers were in some forecasts so some may have cancelled trips. Sites are much larger & more spread out than Fowler’s. Only…

Great for passing through

Stopped here on our way to and from Oregon. Easy pull through sites, full hookups. Friendly staff and they make it easy if you come late and leave early as we did.

Abandoned campground

Visited 4-16-21. Campground appears to be closed but has no signs saying so, just covers on the old signs. Tables and fire rings removed in northern half, bathrooms locked. Nice place for dry camping, near scenic Wolf Creek.

This state park is a gem

I stayed at this campsite after they opened from the pandemic while on a road trip home and I am so so happy I stayed here. The waterfall is like nothing I have ever seen before, and I was so blown away at it's size. The campground is a 5-10 min walk from the waterfall and while it is not private,…
