Love it, water or land

Camped here twice, and have plans to go again. Great kayaking, easy launch and enjoy the hiking trail around the lake. My wife enjoyed the ice cream too.

  • Lots of room.

Peace and quiet

Hidden out of the way little gem. The campground has only eight sites. The restrooms are clean and showers are available at a neighboring campground. Right now the lake is so low you really can’t get to it. But it’s great just to hang out in peace and quiet. Be sure to download directions, hiking…

Clean bathrooms

The spot I was in was small and nestled in a grove of aspen trees. The bear locker was well maintained and the fire ring was double walled. There were flush toilets with working lights and the tent pad was level.

Its a short drive to some great hikes, but the campground itself was too busy and…

Good quiet dry campsite

There are only two camp sites reasonably far apart. Nice clean outhouse and potable hand pump water. Picnic tables and trash bins provided as well as a fire pit. The only negative was the Carr fire that burned many trees in the area.

Awesome!

I can’t say enough good things about this campground. Fowler’s was 100% full but as of later on a Thursday in mid-May here we have an entire loop to ourselves. Rain/showers were in some forecasts so some may have cancelled trips. Sites are much larger & more spread out than Fowler’s. Only…

Cheap campground near shasta

There are 14 camp grounds. About 7/8 have bear bins. There is no water right now because the spring/well is dried up)-: there are fire rings on about 1/2 the camp cites. Bathrooms are close but, kinda gross. Nice shade and trees to slack line. No camp host so but fire wood and in town. Very close…

Great campground very close to lake Shasta

Large campground it has 14 sites. A few of the sites are double sites pretty huge for 2 groups. The water is low right now (may 2021) but, normally it would be walking distance to the water even a few 100 feet. There is clean bathrooms, water, bear bins, and fire rings as well as trash cans! The…

Nice USFF Lakeside campground

Just a quick update to P.S.'s excellent review below as regards cell service.  Since last night when we setup in site #1, we have maintained 3 bars of Verizon service.  So, either a new tower, or perhaps just a different provider.  :)

(Not a lot of water in the lake right now though!)

  • From the banks of the much diminished Trinity Lake. About 100 ft or so below our camp site.
  • Site #1. Full hookup, but not using the 30 Amp, because our surge protector shows open ground error. 20 amp is fine. Water stand pipe has a nasty leak, and we never drain straight to sewer.

This state park is a gem

I stayed at this campsite after they opened from the pandemic while on a road trip home and I am so so happy I stayed here. The waterfall is like nothing I have ever seen before, and I was so blown away at it's size. The campground is a 5-10 min walk from the waterfall and while it is not private,…

Quiet campground next to busy day site

Where camped here just after they opened in April, 2021.  The daytime visitors made for a large crowded parking lot and line at the entrance station, but so far on 8 campers in the 64 sites that were open.

It is a wonderfully shaded park (i.e. no solar) and the sites are nicely separated. …
