William Kent Campground is conveniently located on Lake Tahoe's west shore, a few miles south of Tahoe City. It straddles the highway and features not only a large area in which to camp, but also a day-use area that is popular among visitors.
Just minutes away from the campground, 22-mile-long Lake Tahoe provides sunbathing, swimming, boating and water skiing. Anglers can look forward to healthy fish populations of kokanee salmon and mackinaw, rainbow and brown trout. The campground is also ideal for people planning a full day of bike riding around Lake Tahoe. Bike trails that traverse the western shores of Lake Tahoe begin near the campground.
The campground offers dozens of campsites, available for tent and RV camping. Each is equipped with tables, campfire rings and grills. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided. Each yurt provides a cabin-like space for a family of five or six people. The yurts sit on a wooden platform interior furnishings include a futon and bunk beds with mattresses. Cooking supplies and bedding are not provided. The tent and RV sites have paved parking aprons. Each yurt and standard site has a bear-proof food storage locker, campfire ring, pedestal grill and picnic table.

Our 25ft yurt is nestled away on our 10acre ranch offering the ideal location for your next getaway to Nevada County. We are 10 min from downtown Grass Valley, 12 minutes from historic downtown Nevada City and only 15 min from the Yuba River!
While enjoying some decompression on our land feel free to take a hot or cold bath outside by the sauna ( great for stargazing at night ) or even fire up the sauna for some relaxing and invigorating self care.
You can choose to shower outside by the sauna or use the private shower next door to the yurt. Our toilet is a traditional composting toilet located right outside the door from the yurt as well.
Feel like going on a stroll? Feel free to wander down to our NID where you can take a leisurely stroll on a path along the waterside. Woolman lane is also a great little stroll as well. Our road is very quiet and the road to the yurt had a separate entrance so no worries about coming in late or early.
Our yurt has a king size bed, full kitchen for all your culinary needs, including a vitamix and full oven/stove. There’s a table for eating or work, chairs and shelving for any of your clothes, accessories etc.
For 3 or more guests we can provide by request an extra full mattress with bedding and will fit easily on the floor without too much crowding.
Windows all around give TONS of sunlight and an opening skylight up top complete with a ceiling fan and lights.
For the cooler winter months the yurt is heated by an indoor wood burning stove and wood and kindling is provided.
Summer days can get very hot in the yurt so be prepared by bringing an extra mister or take a dip in the Yuba only 15 min away.
Enjoy sitting outside on the patio furniture. Take a nap or read a book on the hammock while you relax in a peaceful and serene environment.
We also provide organic coffee, tea, sugar and honey. An outdoor table and a hammock will be waiting for you, too.
Plenty of parking and dogs ok only by request.
