    Overview

    Pearch Creek Campground lies just north of the small town of Orleans in the Klamath river valley of the Six Rivers National Forest. Lush foliage provides welcome shade and relative privacy for each of the campground's sites.

    Recreation

    Salmon and steelhead fishing in the nearby Klamath River is considered some of the best in northern California. Both Kalamath and Salmon Rivers are popular destinations for whitewater rafting, swimming and kayaking. Both are within a short drive.

    Facilities

    The campground offers several single-family campsites, suitable for both tent and RV-style camping. Each site has picnic tables and campfire rings with grills. Many have rock camp stoves as well. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided.

    Natural Features

    The campground is located in a mature Douglas fir and hardwood forest. The sound of nearby Pearch Creek can be heard from most sites and the campground remains shady and cool during hot summer days. Moss-covered rocks and tree trunks add to the cooling atmosphere of Pearch Creek.

Oak Bottom Campground is located on a gently sloping hillside in the expansive Six Rivers National Forest in northwest California. It offers a peaceful camping environment, far from road noise and other distractions.

    Recreation

    Located near California's Salmon River, the campground is popular with whitewater enthusiasts in the spring. Many challenging rapids ranging from class 3 to 5 are available. Swimming is also popular in the summer and numerous river access areas are a short drive or walk from the campground. In the fall, salmon and steelhead trout fishing in the nearby Klamath River is known to be some of the best in the state.

    Facilities

    The campground offers several single-family sites. Each site is equipped with a table and grill, and vault toilets and drinking water are provided. A campground host may be available to answer any questions or provide information.

    Natural Features

    The campground loops around a forested hillside of mixed Douglas fir and hardwood forest at a 700-foot elevation. Large deciduous trees provide ample shading for multiple sites within the campground, and a variety of wildlife makes its home in the area.

    Kangaroo Lake campground has 18 sites, 13 of which are drive-in and 5 are walk-in. The campground also provides accessible facilities, including a 1/4 mile paved trail right down to the lake. The lake itself covers 25 acres, and is 110 feet deep. There is no boat ramp but motorless boats are permitted. We are currently seeking a volunteer campground host for Kangaroo Lake campground for the 2015 season. Please apply online at volunteer.gov and use "Klamath" as your search keyword to find Kanagaroo Lake and other campgrounds on the Forest.

    Mostly primitive camping, but we're improving all the time; and maybe won't come back here to update, so please call for details. Quiet, safe Ten acres flat land with no streetlights, and seldom any night time traffic; great for skywatching. If you're lucky, you'll be sung to sleep by the coyotes. Rockhounds, collect Serpentine rock and river rocks that were dredged in the 1930's gold mining of the Scott River. Easy access for RVs, even a semi truck! Near Kangaroo Lake, 8 miles to Etna which has grocery store, restaurants, sauna, massage, etc. Free swimming holes. Wildlife. Hunting, shooting possible as law allows. No fire in summertime due to fires in past years. Plenty room for solitude, RV turnaround easy. Drunks, tweakers, or loud parties will be removed immediately. We welcome everyone who respects the land and our property rights regardless of age, color, whatever. Fresh mountain spring water available. Outdoor kitchen and toilet in the barn, flush from a bucket of water. No running water on property, but fresh spring water available for your containers. There's also an Airbnb available here if you're in the mood for some country luxury:
