Only because it's close to downtown SF

That's the only reason why we're here. Reservation making is a pain since it's all via email/ online. Spaces for rvs are unpaved and additional cars are on cement. Hookups are pretty fast away and needed my sewer extention.

There are full time residents along with short term. If you have slide…

Nice spot nearby

Tons of hiking trails, summit trail was nearby our spot in Juniper, no water available when we went, gates are closed sunset-sunrise, all around a cool spot and its nice how close it is to home. Seems pretty difficult to get a reservation, but its worth it if you can get in

Large and well-maintained with excellent nearby hiking

Great campground, stayed 4 nights in December. Highlights include sunrise views over the lake and hills with rolling fog, wild turkeys everywhere, smell of eucalyptus, warm showers, and scores of dedicated staff who genuinely care about this place. Sites are also nicely-spaced apart. (Though this…

Beautiful, clean, easily-accessed new Southeast Bay campground

This campground opened in August 2021, so the facilities are still brand-spanking new. They haven't yet installed the washer/dryer and haven't yet locked in a vendor to operate the camp store, but I'm told those things are coming.

What they do have are scores of hookup sites for $60 / night…

3 campgrounds, Juniper the best, but sunset lock-in

Mt. Diablo SP has 3 campgrounds: Live Oak, Juniper, and several first come first serve sites at the junction of South Gate and North Gate roads about 2000ft up the mountain.

Live Oak is the closest to the entrance (and town), and features some cool rock formations to explore, but it's colder,…

DONT DO YOUR LAUNDRY THERE

Candlestick RV Park is expensive, extremely narrow - obviously people don't go there for the view or the nice camping experience but because it's closest to SF - so go there if you want to explore the beautiful city: Metro is 15 Min. walk an takes you downtown. But please don't do your laundry…

A fun campsite

It’s a cozy place with boat rentals! Plenty of shade and bathrooms available. Only reason got 4 star is the constant blue-green algae, making the water unavailable for swimming. Regardless of that, you can still fish and go on boat rides.

Expensive for this campground

Full hookup but sites are very tight and it’s noisy being right against the freeway. Other campers are noisy running their cars and motorcycles at night. We were to b in site 22 by office but it was taken. Lady didnt seem to know her sites very well. She told ys 25 was available it someone was in…

Nice dirt free campground

As others have said, close neighbors and gravel, but it's level and clean. Lady at the front desk was very cordial, bathrooms and showers clean, free excellent wifi and over 100 TV channels with full hookups. San Fran price though.

Del Valle: Of The Valley

After time spent here at this oasis in the middle of Eastbay, California, you’ll very much feel like part of this place with its endless trails, fantastically well-kept camping grounds and the warm hospitality given you both by the camp rangers and fellow campers you’ll come across.

Delectable Del Valle

What a find! This hidden gem hides behind the vineyard crested mountain range just due south of Livermore. Once you get off the 680/580 highways, you'll be immediately swept into a different wind-strewn, rocky landscape that you'll have to wind around several bends on some decent inclined…

Craggy Meadow Urban Hideout

Let's just call a spade a spade here, alright? This campground isn't going to be one that you look back at and fondly recollect a surreal experience in the middle of nature with all of the rustic touches one might come to expect when camping in NorCal. And while the Redwoods and Sequoias will steal…

Nice quiet place

Nice big campsites, well spaced between neighbors. Very open with trees shading most spots Beautiful birds and tons of turkeys, a few deer too. Very dry while we were here. We didn’t go to the lake as this was just a travel stay for us.

Occasionally crowded, but great get away for the Bay Area

Close to the Bay Area and probably one of the better options.  It can get crowded over the weekends.

Looks like they recently increased the price for campsites, which makes it easier to find/reserve a site.  Not sure that this was a good thing, but it is what it is.

Overall, the…
