McArthur-Burney Falls will not allow any early camping registration before the 2 p.m. check in time.

Regarding Group Camp North and Group Camp South: 8 "STANDARD SIZE" vehicles are included in the price of the group camps. Extra vehicles will pay an additional fee per night. 8 "STANDARD SIZE" vehicles are allowed. However, if you bring an RV, it will limit the number of total vehicles, since an RV will take up approximately 5-8 standard size parking spaces. This means you may only be able to fit 1 RV and no other vehicles. If the vehicles are not able to fit in their respective parking areas, they will be required to park in overflow parking lots where space is available. If occupants choose to bring oversized vehicles (RVs, Boats, and Trailers), this may limit their ability to fit their 8 included vehicles in their respective parking area. Roadside and shoulder parking will not be permitted on Lake Road. Overnight parking at the Lake Parking Lot will not be permitted.

All access to the waterfall and falls pool area at McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park will be closed due to reconstruction of the main trail through the entire 2024 summer season.

Additionally, Caltrans will be performing a major Highway 89 rehabilitation project during the same period which will significantly add traffic congestion, delays, and intermittent traffic closures near the park entrance.

Perfect place near the falls
This campground was well maintained and the sites were large. Ample access to water spigots throughout the sites. Bathrooms were standard with flush toilets. A short walk to the falls made it very accessible. Would recommend driving to the lake due to the length of the walk and elevation to return back. Not much else to do in the area. There is a campground store where they also sell hot food and overpriced supplies if needed.

Spacious sites
Nice clean campground. I was close to the bathroom which was nice. Spacious and shaded camp spots.
The sound is like paradise
I love it here. I went as a teenager with a friend of mine and her family and I have been going every 10 years since. Lol. This time was amazing. I was divorced 10 years ago so a new group of eager wonderful people who have come into my life since then we’re there to explore with me. The sound of the waterfalls is mesmerizing to me. I live the campground because that’s the sound I get to wake up to. The beauty of the Falls is indescribable. To me waterfalls were the most majestic things I’ve ever seen because my brain can’t wrap itself around its inner workings basically. For once since I was a teenager I went on the Falls Loop trail hike lto the top of the falls and back to camp which was about a 2 mile hike. It was gorgeous. The trees throughout are tall and beautiful and plenty. You won’t be disappointed if you go here. It is a 3 1/2 hour drive for me but well worth it.
