Little Harbor Campground

Most ppl skip this lil gem on the TCT but its my personal favorite. The water is clean and great for snorkeling and the campsites all have amazing views of the cove. Water is available and you can have firewood delivered right to your site. Small, remote and peaceful. Wish I'd stayed another night.

Best Stop On the TCT!!!

 Between the camping at little harbor and the cabins in two harbors Catalina Island is a great getaway only a short boat ride away! There's a general store in two harbors if you forget anything!

Bitchen place

One of the most beautiful campsites I've been to.

Easiest way to get there is via Two Harbors then either hike into the site or hire a shuttle for a ride. No onsite store, so you'll need to pack in everything you need.

If arriving by boat - There is a anchorage in little harbor but it can be tricky if not set correctly. Make sure you set a bow and stern to prevent swinging into the rocks. Consult the local chart for soundings and beta for anchor line length.

Firepit - fire wood available for delivery just check with ranger, Outdoor Shower and bathroom.

Beach front camping

Such a beautiful campground, and if you're lucky enough (like we were) you may get the whole place to yourself. The beach is beautiful, and there's nothing like the sunsets here. 

Feels like your own private beach

Took the ferry from San Clemente to Avalon (45 mins to 1 hour). Then a bus from Avalon to the campsite (1 to 1.5 hours depending the stop at the airport). Went with a group and had to carry all your equipment and food for the weekend. The buses have plenty of room for coolers. Any last minute food items can be bought at the small grocery store in Avalon, but you'll pay for it. Once you leave Avalon, you are at the mercy of the bus schedules in order to get back to a store, which buses only come by the campsite a limited amount of times through the day or week.

  

Beach and cove is great for spearfishing or snorkeling. Rock cliffs wrap both north and south of the beach for miles and there are kayaks for rent on the beach, but need to pre-order.

  

Overall a great location to isolate yourself or with company on a sandy beach, BBQ, drink and relax.

Isolated, private, therapeutic

This is one of the most beautiful campgrounds I have ever been too. The view of the beach and the palm trees and all of it is amazing! If you’re backpacking through here, I highly recommend you stay the night. A camp site includes potable water, fire pit, picnic table, food storage box. Everything you need. Porta potties available. Careful with all the buffalo poop. There is almost no cell coverage here except on top of a large rock on the shore. 

Must visit!!!

If you’re backpacking the Trans-Catalina trail, this is one of the best spots. Great views of the sunset, spaced out campsites with water spouts at each one and a 6 mile hike from airport in the sky. I recommend a site closer to the water. Make sure you have all your supplies with you.
