## Overview

 Sycamore Grove Campground sits along the banks of the sparkling Sacramento River at a 300-foot elevation, within the 488-acre Red Bluff Recreation Area. The area is an isolated parcel of the Mendocino National Forest in Northern California, in Red Bluff, CA. Visitors to the campground enjoy shady oak and sycamore trees and grassy fields within a beautiful riparian environment.
## Recreation

 Visitors can enjoy the 4-mile paved nature trail, which winds through flowering grasslands, wetlands and oak woodlands, providing access to an abundance of plants and wildlife, as well as incredible views of Mount Shasta, Mount Lassen and the Yolla Bolly Mountains. The nearby river provides visitors with access to a variety of water-related recreation opportunities, including fishing, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, swimming and canoeing. A variety of fish can be seen in the river, including Chinook, Steelhead, and Striped Bass.

 The campground offers more than two dozen, single-family and double campsites, available for tent and RV camping. Campsites are equipped with tables and campfire rings with grills. Potable water is provided.\_\_

 Sycamore Grove is a beautiful campground that is open year-round. Campsites and open areas throughout the campground are covered in lush, green grass, with shade trees towering overhead. The campground provides access to a variety of hiking and biking trails, as well as the scenic Sacramento River, which is open to all types of water sports.

A Good Camp Host can make or break the most Beautiful. 

Intrusive, Violating, Disrectful, Vile, Disgusting,  Sinester,  is just the beginning of my review. First off it was Gorgeous!! Wonderful walking trails for seniors, dogs, runners walkers, bicycles. The views are breathtaking. Nice comfortable benches to star gaze at night. I stayed fourteen days in a tent. First six days was phenomenal.  Then the illegal drug manufacturing rv/trailer moved in the cover of darkness. They had maybe two guests on tag but 10 people in and our 24/7 then the Mexican Cartel showed up and park all day and not get out. Then drug buddy comes and does drop then leaves, another truck pulls in and takes his spot. They did this for the last six days on my vacation.  The Host not only knew about it he allowed it. They did their product and acting like idiots, Host came out and did nothing. Next page, internet says Restrooms and Showers open and Clean.  Nope, they make 100 plus people use a Porta Potti with bad toilet paper and no way to wash. Then they post Covid signs on everything and say it is closed. Conclusion,  if you ok with being robbed, shot, killed and the Host and local Law Enforcement Park Rangers not caring about your safety then this a place for you and your loved ones.  It was Phenomenal first six days.

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We were in site 11 for 4 days in mid May. The CG is clean, quiet(except for some I-5 road noise) and fairly well maintained, except for the low hanging branches that could use some trimming around the CG loop and on the drive in/out. The CG varied from half to 3/4 full over the weekend. The men’s shower had a sign that there was not hot water and my wife said she’d not use the women’s bathroom or shower as they were a little nasty. There are several nice walking trails around the recreation area. There is also a nice winery, Tuscan Ridge Estate, about 10 miles west of town. AT&amp;T coverage was very fair, ranging from 1-2 bars of 5G, with speeds up to 3MB/s. Site 11 has one large tree at the back of the site that provided some welcome shade, especially in the afternoon when temps were pushing the mid 90s, but it didn’t block access the western DISH satellites. Starlink had speeds between 2 and 14 MB/s. We didn’t try any OTA channels with our fixed omni antenna.

Nice, small, largely quiet CG 

It is a nice campground for a one night stop. Easy access right off hwy 5 and surprisingly quiet being so close. The camp hosts were nice, I would like to see the hosts do a little more maintenance around the CG. Clean up would be nice. Cigarette butts in the bbq, trash in the fire pit. Didn’t use the showers but the bathroom was average, needed a code to access which was emailed when we registered online. Not a more than one night place for me but nice enough.
