Campground has no water and no service. When Highway 4 is closed, no access is possible.
Limited camping area located 6 miles east of Lake Alpine. Mosquito has 11 sites with picnic tables. Vault toilet facility but no drinking water.
No running water but the campground has great views of the lake! There are 2 site that are tucked away further down the road that are really secluded if that is your thing. Took a day trip to Alpine lake to swim. Beware of the elevation - didn't realize how far up we were!
Beautiful lakes- quiet, rustic campground with a toilet- no running water. First come first serve- $8 Terrific place to escape- never seen it full.
Cold nights, clear sky, fell asleep to sound of frogs croaking. Fishing only fair, but easy drive to nearby lakes like Alpine Lake or Kinney Reservior. Also fairly challenging trail to Alpine Lake or other VIsta points. We could see Spicer Reservior and Utica Reservior from vista point on trail head, southwest of Mosquito Lakes. One night we heard some wild noise from cabin area across lake but it was dusk and couldn't make out what animal was out there,…? Our dog had a blast swimming the lakes, too cold for us.
