This campground is very beautiful, located just north of Fort Bragg on the California coast. I witnessed the best sunset that I have ever seen in my life at this beach. However, I was unfortunate to get one campground with no trees or privacy. Additionally, this campground is more expensive than some other state parks and has limited things to explore. Also, the showers require more money to start, so if you run out of time during your shower you will need at least a dollar just to start it back up to finish rinsing off not like other State park showers. If you want to explore the area there are tons of other things too see… Including Fort Bragg, glass beach, the skunk train, Russian gulch, the town of Mendocino, Mendocino headlands, and a pigmy Forest
Best campground in Fort Bragg. Perfect little spots next to the beach. One of my favorite things here is the nature walk that goes out to the look out points. Love coming here!
MacKerricher was absolutely amazing. I went with my best friend and had a blast! The beach was gorgeous and spent most of our time exploring the area. One thing that did suck was that there was a raccoon in the bushes near our campsite that popped out at us both nights as well as stared from the bushes. Scary.
Other than that we had a lot of fun!
Clean quiet close to the ocean peaceful lots of amazing things to see and do
Close proximity to glass beach and fort brag. Stayed here for one night had some mosquitos but nothing spray couldn’t stop. Was a bit rainy and overcast the whole night but still a really enjoyable trip. Bathrooms were clean
This is a large spread out campground with nice hiking paths near the beach. Good coastal marine viewing area and close to Ft. Bragg. Hike and bike area is small and across from one of the camp hosts who was very friendly and offered wine, watermellon, and her campfire.
Great campground located right on the Pacific Ocean. Campground is well kept with privacy in some locations. Added bonus is easy to get groceries in Fort Bragg. You could relax here for a week!
Close to beach but also just outside of town. Cook over a fire or eat at a restaurant, your choice. Fun tide pools.
Great tide pools, and a lot of raccoons
My family has been camping here for the past 30+ years and it is always a memorable experience. The rangers are helpful, the beaches are clean and accessible. The campsites are also clean with plenty of room for wetsuits, kayaks, and abalone cleaning. We Lee coming back every year. 💚💙
