Been there, done that!

Why do people pay $80+reservation fee to camp here? True, it is June the weather is typical June gloom, unable to see Catalina and the oil islands are not much of a view. I tried a hike at the Bolsa Chica Reserve, but when the police helicopter started flying above me, I decided to go back. We came here because we had business in the area and were able to pickup some cancellations for a few nights so we did not have to do the 405 commute. So that is one positive. Also, sites do have water and electricity. Negatives are:

  1. Cost $80/night plus reservation fees.
  2. Sites are very close together
  3. No table or fire ring at your site (May bring your own or use large ring on the beach) was too windy while we were here, anyway.
  4. Right on PCH, highway noise

5.premium sites are right on the bike path, no fence. parents watch your children closely! Not my idea of beach camping. Also, we avoid the 405 anyway, just saved ourselves some commute time by staying here.
