Camp on a rural, small farm and avoid the crowds of public/state campgrounds for an amazing and unique experience.

Keep in mind, this is the high desert.

This is not glamping and is on private property. The owners live on site and are inviting you to their home. Be mindful and respectful of their home. This is not your typical camping experience.

Bathroom includes a COMPOST TOILET.  
Message the hosts if you don't know what this is or how to use one. Instructions will be provided.

There is one spot for RV camping with full hookups. Water, sewer and 30amp electricity. The RV site is beside the garage and close to the house but the garage blocks the view from the house so there is privacy. It also faces West so you get a great view of the sunset over Temecula Valley. The site is all gravel. There is no shade.

The remaining sites are for primitive tent camping. THIS IS NOT GLAMPING.  
**There is no shade. There are NO TREES at any of the sites.**

Bierbaum Pepper Farm is on 11 acres and ONLY allows 6 groups at a time to allow for social distancing.

Play with baby goats, buy farm fresh, organic eggs or dairy products made from the goat milk and enjoy the amazing views!

You are on top of a hill on 11 acres in the high desert bordered by Mount Palomar in this beautiful valley. 

You can see the sunrise over the mountains and the sunsets are usually spectacular!  In the morning around 6:30am you can see hot air balloons lift off from the wineries in Temecula Valley. 

There is a hot tub in the common area! This is by far the most popular attraction besides the baby goats. There is also access to tables, chairs, a charcoal grill, water fountain and kitchen herb garden in the common area. There are plugs in the common area so you can charge your phone. Wifi is available in the common area. **NONE of these options are available at the individual sites. There are no tables at the sties.**

It is so quiet you can hear crow wings flapping as they fly by.  
You may see field mice, rabbits, squirrels, road runners, small lizards, owls and other desert animals.   
You can give treats to the goats and play with them at any time.

Bierbaum Pepper Farm is less than 15 minutes away from Temecula Wine Country with over 50 wineries in the area. Many of which are dog friendly ask the hosts for recommendations.   
Two of the wineries will deliver food/wine to campers. Contact the hosts for more information.

There is a solar shower available in the converted green house by the chicken coop. Hot water only lasts a few minutes but it's great to rinse off with.  
**Solar = Sun.** There is ONLY hot water once the sun has heated it up. It will not be hot early mornings, at night or on cloudy days. However, it can get VERY hot. Always test the water BEFORE getting under the shower head. 

There is a compost toilet in the bathroom, instructions provided in the bathroom area. There is a pump action camp sink and soap for washing your hands and even a table for washing your dishes (cold water only).

Portable fire pits are available to check out when there is no wind and before wildfire season. 

Bierbaum Pepper Farm - Temporarily Closed

As a Ranger on The Dyrt, I sometimes receive compensation for reviews like this one. I was given the amazing opportunity to spend an evening camping on Bierbaum Pepper Farm this past weekend and I cannot say enough great things about the property and our camping experience.

*   Marcella is a SUPER HOST who has thought through every detail to make sure her guest has an amazing experience. Her property is so serene and peaceful and gave us a taste of what it's like living on a farm. She was so hospitable and welcoming, gave us a thorough walk-through of all the amenities, and communication was easy peasy!
*   Campsites are a good distance from the main house on the property so campers have a lot of privacy and open space. The main amenities are located right around the house -- BBQ grill plus patio, hot tub, outdoor shower, toilets/sink, dumpster for trash disposal, etc.
*   The outdoor shower is wonderful! It's spacious and bright, and has lots of privacy. The shelf/towel rack is super convenient and makes reaching for soap and shampoo easy. It's a solar shower so hot water lasts about 5 mins -- make it quick! (Tip: Bring sandals so your feet/shoes don't get muddy when you step off the wooden platform.)
*   There is a private compost toilet in a little shack that works great. Toilet paper and hand sanitizer were provided. The location is a bit of a walk from where the campsites are which can be a little inconvenient if you have an active bladder like myself, but I can't complain! It's still better than no toilet.
*   You can purchase farm fresh eggs ($2/half dozen, $4/full dozen), firewood ($8/bundle), ice ($5/10 lb bag) and water bottles ($1) from the host which makes it super convenient if you forget any of these items.
*   You can feed and pet goats! How amazing is that?! Marcella leaves goat feed right outside the gated area and campers can head over to feed the goats whenever they want. It was such an amazing and novel experience to have while camping. Such a fun treat.
*   Camping on the farm was so peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset with amazing views of the Temecula Valley. We listened to birds and goats during the day and woke up to the sound of roosters in the morning. Pure magic! In the mornings around 7am you can see hot air balloons take off in the valley.
*   Campfires are allowed, just make sure you pick up a portable fire pit and a fire extinguisher from the host! We picked up 2 bundles which was way more than enough to keep a nice, hot fire in the evening.
*   The farm is great for small and large groups. There is plenty of space on the property to set up multiple tents. Just beware of ant holes! The ants are pretty harmless but you don't them crawling all over your gear. We brought our large tent with our most luxurious sleeping pads for a nice glamping experience. 
*   FREE WIFI!! It's only accessible if you're near the main house. You can sit by the outdoor patio and get some work done during the day and enjoy the views of the mountain ranges in the distance. Talk about an office with a view! This is perfect for digital nomads or anyone who telecommutes.
*   Cell service was good -- 4 bars (AT&amp;T)
*   Farm was very easy to find with the directions provided. There was large signs from the main road, you cant miss it! The drive in was beautiful. We passed lots of ranches, wineries, farms, and orchards.

We go camping all the time, and I'm not a fan of hosted campgrounds, but, this place is amazing!

Marcella truly makes this a fun experience and is a fantastic host!

The view is awesome! The goats are a great time! The herb garden, the hot tub, the bunny! After all that you get to go off to your own little hideaway spot and enjoy the great camping!

Seriously, I couldn't recommend this enough.

An Amazing Experiance

So, as we are quarantined (2020) I was trying to find something that wasn't closed and just a quick get away to test some new camping equipment.  I stumbled across Bierbaum from Google and got the dyrt ad,  I saw they had animals and I was hooked.

  

I was going to camp alone for the first time and thought this is perfect, the thought of being on someone's property was interesting as well. 

  

The travel to the property is breathtaking and it was easy to find.

  

Marcella was in constant contact with me which was great and quite hospitable.

  

I was in site #2 which I liked.  I was able to set-up two ez up sized tents and my van fit fine.  It is the furthest down on the property.

  

The common area is quite inviting with a small jacuzzi and several seats.

  

It was a wonderful little get-away for me.  I plan on going back and once quarantine is over take in Lake Skinner and Diamond Lake which are not too far from the property.

  

I totally recommend take a bit of time to hang out here.

Little piece of heaven.

The place is exactly as advertised. Hosts are kind as can be but give you your space as well. We had campsites 5 and 6 and it was perfect. Would highly recommend this site for those looking for a tent camping experience. You could not even see the hosts house from the site and we had 10 plus people very comfortably. We went to the local dog friendly wineries which Marcella recommended for the day and came back for a sunset hotub. We could not have been happier with it all.

Exactly as Advertised

We loved our stay here! Marcella has a great set up for the campers and easy and clear instructions for everything. The campsite was clean and had plenty of space for our gear. We used the hot tub which was nice after a long day of games and cooking. The goats are super cute and the views were really pretty. We would come back and would recommend this campsite to anyone especially first time campers. Thank you Marcella!

Camping Made Easy

What a great trip for our family or three (plus our golden retriever)! Because of COVID and National Parks/Forests being closed The Dyrt helped me find GEMS like this to stay at. 

Bierbaum Pepper Farms was a wonderful find. We booked online with HipCamp and added Goat Milk, Goat Cheese, Eggs, and Firewood to our reservation. SO COOL!

We arrived at 3:00 with everything ready. We stayed at site #1, which we loved. All sites were available and after driving through each Site #1 was our favorite. It felt the most private and on flat ground. 

The cheese, eggs, and milk were amazing. We also added on yogurt for breakfast and Frozen Yogurt for dessert. 

The owner was THE BEST and was so sweet to our daughter and dog!! We watched her milk the goats and even were able to hold the babies. 

This was a great experience we will do again.

Had a great time staying a night at the Bierbaum Farm. Marcella is a great host. You can never go wrong with baby goat petting. We had hot air balloons fly by in the morning on their sunrise tours. One of them was close enough to have a conversation with the riders as they were finding a place to land.
