Can't not beat the price and the spot. Nice views, great place to unwind for a couple days with friendly staff. Bathrooms with showers, with an Access pass it's $10/night with electric and water. WOW! A lot of people seem to be camping here and taking their boats out.
Level spots with picnic tables and fire pits. Couldn't get our Starlink to work with tree coverage but have reception.
Overall nice place to camp. There were several RVs and tent spots occupied during our visit, but the park never felt crowded. Most of the lower sites were closed though, so I’d imagine during the summer the place would seem cramped. Excellent lake with great fishing and beautiful sunsets. Located approximately 30 minutes from Mt. Magazine lodge for those that want some great outdoor rock climbing.
The downgrade to 4 stars stems from the mildly confusing layout of the campsites with no helpful signs in place to navigate. They just kinda paved roads here and there with no rhyme or reason. Getting into the winter sites requires an abrupt acute turn to the left from the main road into the sites, so be ready to disconnect your sway control….the loop is also closed so you’re going out the way you came in which leaves some very Austin Powers like antics to get out back to the main road. Also, the water for spots 19-27 (odd numbered) are about 60 feet away, so be prepared for that. Last, none of the gate houses were staffed, so it was a mild free-for-all.
Nearest Walmart was Booneville, about 30ish minutes away. T-Mobile showed 2-3 bars of 5G, though actual performance was kinda sus, phone service was seemingly standard but my laptop on the hot spot wasn’t having it.
Great place to camp. I love the views, fishing, boating, kayaking, and swim area! We camp here often.
One bathroom and loop open but very quiet. Mostly watercraft uses in the reservoir. A nice overnight stay for us between destinations.
Our third trip here this season. We love the ambience, the lake views, the nice campsites.
We had a little trouble getting our 25' camper into site 06 but we did get it in. We had a good time canoeing and swimming at the beach.
We were hanging out over the 4th of July weekend down here. The beach area is just great. The sites have different characteristics, dependent on where they are located. Close to the beach, they are more spaced out, while going up the hill going more into the woods, they are a little more cramped, but still livable. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Showers were hot, but the stalls are a bit small.
We sure will be back soon...
This COE park is a great place to camp and unwind as well as enjoy nature and get in some fishing or maybe kayaking.
The lake is a local favorite for boating, swimming and other water sports and even features an island with its own beach.
The park is well kept and clean with recently re-vamped campsites and includes water, 50amp electric, 2 dump stations, 3 boat ramps and 2 fish cleaning stations.
This campground is huge. Water and electric. Nice bathroom. Multiple boat launches and places to fish. Most spots are shaded. Plenty of places to walk. Nice swim beach. All around good place to go and keepers are very friendly. Spots are kinda close together but you have lots of room. Fire pit and grill stand. Will definitely come back
We camped here with our son and his family. The sites were partially shaded for most of the day. The swimming area and the entire park was clean and free of trash. Hats off to the folks that keep the grounds clean and the firepits so clean! Have to say we were surprised to find no hot water in the showers. Hope that was a temporary problem.
This was our second trip with our new to us camper! Wow what a pretty park big and plenty of parking . There is camp spots that over look the bay and some right down on the water . Has two shower houses and plenty of restrooms . All are clean and well keep. While I was there the painting rock and putting them out was the big next thing , so I painted some and put them out . I watched three young girls go up to them and look but not sure if they could have them but in the end they picked them up and it was smiles all around . That make my day to see how happy they were. I put rocks out at the swimming hole to and later went back to see and yes they were gone . Blue mountain is a great place to hunt , fish, kayak, swim and just enjoy quite time. I would recommend this park to anyone that enjoys the outdoors.
