## Overview

 Prairie Creek Campground sits along the vast shores of Beaver Lake in the Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas, offering spacious and sunny campsites and an abundance of recreational activities. 
## Recreation

 Fishing opportunities are plentiful near Prairie Creek Campground. Beaver Lake has more than 28,000 surface acres of water, and anglers can try their luck at catching large and small-mouth bass, crappie, bream, white bass, stripers, and channel or spoon-bill catfish. Just below the dam, the cold waters of the upper White River provide a perfect habitat for pole-bending rainbow and record-size German brown trout. Several trails snake throughout the Ozark Mountains, offering peaceful hiking, biking and wildlife viewing opportunities for visitors. Hunters will find game plentiful in northwest Arkansas. A mixture of hardwood and evergreen forest provides a good home to many different species of wildlife. While Beaver Lake is conveniently located near several population centers, within a short driving distance hunters can find remote areas filled with upland game animals such as deer, rabbits and squirrels. Many other sports and activities await campers, including boating, swimming, picnicking, scuba diving, water skiing, spelunking and sightseeing.
## Facilities

 Prairie Creek Campground has large campsites with plenty of shade and room for activities, and is steps away from the lake shore. Fire rings, picnic areas, drinking water and flush toilets all make for a comfortable camping getaway. A sand volleyball court, five-lane boat ramp and playground make the area perfect for families and other large groups.
## Natural Features

 Towering limestone bluffs, natural caves and a variety of trees and flowering shrubs surround Prairie Creek Campground, making it an ideal retreat for outdoor enthusiasts. Beaver Lake and Dam, completed in 1966, was constructed in the White River Basin and boasts 449 miles of beautiful shoreline at the top of the conservation pool. Although the dam was originally built for flood control, hydroelectric power and public water supply, it has also created a popular recreational oasis.

Prairie Creek (AR)

Spacious sites surrounded by tall oaks &amp; plenty of wildlife. Each site comes with a picnic table, fire pit, stove table &amp; lantern hook. Large variety of sites, including multi-family sites. Lake access and beach and swimming area.

Nice State Park on Beaver Lake

Nice campground overall. Showers could use some work 15sec water timer makes for a frustrating shower after a day of MTBing. Tent sites had nice pads and ours had nice lake views. However our site did not have working power breaker was broken. Biggest complaint was the marina was Bellow is and they had some form of fishing contest starting at first light so wakeup call of PA anouncer and boat motors racing. If the camp attendent had given a heads up we would have picked a different site. Still willing to give it a second chance

Could be good

We decided on Prairie Creek for the water and the "cuteness" of Rogers, AR. We selected spots with amazing views (sites 98 and 99!) and we were not disappointed. The hike to the lolly bathrooms was all uphill, and the showers were a 20 min walk. Quite long. The bathrooms at the shower house were relatively clean. Campsites themselves were clean. Platforms for tents were great until a storm blew in. The gravel did not grip our tent stakes and our tent almost went flying. We rushed to take it down and spent the night in a friend's RV.

There were a couple breweries in town we visited. The city itself was pretty much closed on Sundays, so plan your "town time" accordingly.

Great Views, but very spread out! 

Prairie Creek is not as nice as Lost Bridge. It is a large campground maintained by the Corps of Engineers. There is a lot to do if you are a family and like to spend time on the lake. There are nice recreational areas with play equipment, pavilions and beach volley ball. There is an area for swimming as well.

The bathrooms could use some updating and the campground seems better built for Camper Trailers and RVs than it does for tents. A lot of the sites slope making it hard to find level ground.

It is well maintained and fairly busy.

Prairie Creek is a large campground on Beaver Lake

Over 100 sites at this campground, weren’t many people there when we were there.  Stayed in site 97 which had great views over the lake.  Vault toilets.  Our site had electric but no water.  They didn’t bother telling us until we arrived that the water had tested positive for E. coli and the swimming areas were closed.  They have a sand volleyball pit near the marina and some kids playground equipment.  Also have some large pavilions for large groups.  Tons of deer everywhere also raccoons at night, so keep trash put away.  There was only one trash area at the front of park.  They could have more trash receptacles around the park.  Our area was heavily wooded which provided nice shade.  Our site has a picnic bench, fire pit and pad for a tent.  

Great views

Reserved spots here solely because of availability for Memorial Day weekend. Basically every spot has water hookup EXCEPT the spots in the loop we were in (which is fine, we were aware before we arrived). Be prepared with as many leveling blocks as you can bring if you have a trailer. All spots seemed to have unlevel pads. We are planning to return but definitely not in the same spots we had. 

Good Option

This is a large Corps of Engineers run campground with over 100 sites. Some of the sites are by the water-ish and some are up in the woods. I liked the remoteness of the first seven sites- they are away from the water and up in the trees. All of the sites in the campground had water and electric hookups, concrete tables, fire pits and prep tables. Some sites are not level at all and are terrible sites for tents(stick to the first seven, very level and away from the hubbub, a short walk to the lake). Most sites seemed to have good trees for hammocks. In the large main area of the campground there are a couple playground areas, a beach, marina, boat launch, and several bathrooms with flush toilets. While you are here, head into town which is super cute and home to the Daisy AirGun Museum!

Lots of camping options

This campground is located on Beaver Lake in NW Arkansas. It is a Corp of engineer lake. We stayed in site 30 which is quite small but our Winnebago 24’ Trend fit in fine. There was a slight slope but we were able to position our Anderson block on one side and were level. This site is at the end of a short road and very private. There were places for all sized of RVs and tents. We were there during the 3rd week June and it was probably 3 quarters full of campers. There is a very nice day use area with picnic tables and a lot of shelters. The lake is just outside of Rogers Arkansas

Beautiful!

We really enjoyed Prairie Creek! Close to Rogers for splurging and eating out.  Campsites come with various services so check yours to ensure you have what you need.  Some have no services, some with electric only, all the way up to full services.  Those near the water seem to have short pads and electric only.  I never was able to get our TT level at site 92.  Over 8" difference from side to side.  That said, we enjoyed our time here a lot.  The sites in the 90's seem to be very short with the exception of 94.  Can't wait to come back.

Beautiful lake with campsites that are spread out

We stayed in tent site 107 because it looked the most secluded on the park map.  It definitely is the most secluded but the drop-off from the asphalt to the site ranges from 6-12+".  Only parking for this site is on the loop.  Thankfully it is the only site on the loop so no one needs to drive down there.  We enjoyed the privacy and the view of the marina.  The swimming area is rocky so take some wet shoes.  Will definitely be staying in one of the smaller, level tent sites every time we go back to Bentonville/Rogers.

Quiet sites on Beaver Lake

We had a great extended weekend (Wed-Sun) at Prairie Creek. Our little loop was nice and secluded while being close to the shower house and park. Traffic was minimal in the camping areas but the entrance point to the park could get busy with a lot of boat traffic. Luckily, there is a separate road to the marina and it was only congested at the entrance.

  

We used the 30A and water hookups and both worked seamlessly. Water tasted fine, not bad, not great. We only used it for washing dishes and brushing teeth. Showered at the shower house which had room temperature water.

  

Our site (27) was relatively level. Took 1 leveling block on the passenger side and we were set. We have a relatively long pop-up and still had ample room at the back of our site for bikes and space or the truck up front. There was a noticeable dip from the road to the site but it was manageable. Some other sites were much worse. The paved areas for our site were level-ish but anything away from the picnic table area and parking had a significant slope. 

  

Docked 1 star due to the conditions I saw other spaces in and the dated shower house could use a refresh (or just some fans to move air during the hot days)

4 nights at Prairie Creek

I only gave this a 4 star because the site we stayed at was not taken care of and NOT level. But we needed the shade and it was quiet. We enjoyed our selves. The campground has a LOT of loops, beach areas, fishing, marina, and CLEAN showers and restrooms. Very close to Rogers for entertainment and food but remote enough to be quiet and relaxing. Would come back here but we would opt for another site.
