Woodchute Trail Dispersed Camping - Mingus Mtn

Beautiful Junipers & Pines, lots of wildlife and nice camping spots spaced apart. I ❤ this mountain.

Relaxing boondock

Off road trails that can also be used for running/hiking. Numerous sites the further back you go. Some need higher clearance to get to. Water for .25 a gallon at the Uhaul in town. Gas station and family dollar within walking distance if you take the trails.

We have camped many times with my family. Many people have RVs in our group and some have tents and truck tents! All are welcome and easy to navigate. Great for individuals and groups. Cheap, just 8$! It is clean, quiet and beautiful views. Close to town and close to fun attractions such as the…

Nice little area with great sunsets.

This is a relatively small BLM dispersed camping area. There’s maybe 20 sites depending on the the type of vehicle you drive. There are definitely some high clearance vehicle only areas but we were able to find a nice spot in our Winnebago next to the base of the hills. There are no services here,…

Nice and wild

Nice forested area in Prescott Forest. Few level sites for my rig and lots of nails on the ground from pallet wood.

Senator Hwy Dispersed

These dispersed spots are a good ways outside of Prescott. It’s a nice getaway after being in the busy Sedona area for the past five days. Some mosquitoes were still around but they left me alone after dark. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of trash at the campsite, left by previous occupants.

This place is so pretty! So easy to get to so that was really nice! Loved the views! We were at campsite 4 and it was right by a river and this really cool cave thing! Only down side was there was so many little bugs flying around so they got really annoying at night.

High up and So Cool!

Up in the pines and smells great! Lots of dispersed spots waiting for you but the early bird gets best choice!

It’s not so bad

Sure, some people don’t know how to pick up after themselves, but I wouldn’t rate it poorly for that reason alone. I always bring a large heavy duty trash bag to pick up whatever I can reasonably fit into my forester. There’s no amazing view but I had no idea there were such forested places in a…

This area is fairly big. We arrived on a Sunday and there were a good amount of campers around who seemed to have been there for a while. The area is very close to residential areas, but some spots still feel pretty secluded. We took the first right off the cemetery road and drove all the way down…

Beautiful and Convenient

This campground located just outside of Downtown Prescott is one of my favorites for a little time away.  The grounds and trails are well maintained, with little to no facilities, they allow for tent and self contained camping.  Close proximity to a plethora of trails and wildlife, the Thumb Butte…

Nice Enough

We stayed one night and enjoyed the stay. Toilets were clean and it was very quiet considering the place was completely full. We took a very nice hike down to and around the lake.

One strange occurrence. Two trucks pulled up to the dumpster and started unloading like 20 bags of garbage. Weird…

Prescott Camping

Another great camping spot !! Not that far at all from Phoenix, 20 min from Prescott! If you find the right campsite you can look out over the mountains into the valley! 7000 feet elevation 💯👍

Another Great Spot

Okay so I prefer free camp spots and places that are quiet and tucked away. This place is great. It’s not too far off the paved road but the road does get a bit bumpy once you’re off the paved road. I stayed in site #4 and it was perfect. I did have to pick up some trash left behind but very…

Not Travel Trailer Friendly

It looks like a great spot to tent camp, but the spots are close together in some areas. The road here is one narrow lane only. If you have a trailer and someone comes the other way you or them have to back out.
