Once again we are the only ones here! It got a little cold this morning, down to 15 but the sunrise was awesome. Lots of nice spots, you can get everything from a small cabin to a dry spot down by the beach. Some of the bathrooms are closed for the winter but there are a couple still open. 30 and…
Stopped here prior to visiting the petrified forest. What a clean, quiet, gem. The lake was frozen over which made for tons of fun for us throwing rocks and listening to the ripple. I’d say there is at least 10 spots. Port-o-potty there and trash so please continue to keep this clean free site just…

Quiet and secluded with a huge lake!
This campsite is great for groups and has lots of amenities. Although it may be far from town it has its own little store.
Clean and peaceful area. Camped here as a jump point to the Petrified Forest Park the next morning.
While I camped many times as a kid, my first adult camping was at Big Lake. What a great place to learn to camp. Beautiful scenery, quiet, a big lake, fishing, and all away from civilization.
Like my title implies, this is where you go if you really want to “get away” from It all! This gorgeous campground is remote, very remote. But oh so perfect for taking the time to unplug and enjoy some truly breathtaking nature. Many of the campsites are a quick walk away from the water. Speaking…
The park is nice but I did not like the grass or what ever it was that was cut. Very sharp
Wooded wonderland. Fire rings, picnic tables, potable water access and toilets. Elk were bugling at dusk! Large pull in spots fit our 36' class A with slide out just fine. Downside is that it's just off 191 so road noise until 9pm and as of 7am, but not bad.
Camped here in October 2016. My all-time favorite campgrounds. We tent camped and it was freezing cold, poured rain. We had huge sleeping bags and a little propane heater, and still really enjoyed it. Lots of area to hike and tons to see.
Spots are close to the lake which is really nice. The overall campground is nice and the spots were spaced out nicely.

Had decent sized campsites with water spigots and a fire ring. Flushing toilets. Absolutely beautiful to wake up to, and right off the road.
Great lake view from all sites. Cabins and rv sites have easy access and parking. Nice bathrooms.
We stayed here for two days. There are some short trails with wonderful views of the lake and surrounding area, and there are petroglyphs to explore. Decent fishing, although the lake was flooded and murky while we were there, and we didn’t give it the best shot. It likely could be a really good…

Had the best time at Big Lake, AZ. First off though, reserve a camp site on-line. I didn’t but got lucky because we arrived on a Thursday. The scenery is beautiful. The weather was beautiful and the fishing was good.
