As advertised

This campsite is a city park area. Lots of water activities, a big Park with playground equipment, great for families. The campground is quite a ways away from the park area, but a nice family walk. Clean, not "new" looking but pretty nice. I drove in and looked around before paying the $15 at the pay station at the front.

This is Labor Day Weekend so I thought it might be busier, but it's about 1/4 full.

Sunset was BEAUTIFUL!

This campsite has many signs saying NO ALCOHOL. So heads up on that. Bring cups for whatever you drink.

BRING BUG SPRAY. I am about the farthest you can get from the water, and it's big time bugs.

Edit: the restrooms are not well taken care of, and they really could put in some effort to keep weeds from growing out of every crack in the road. Honestly it feels like the caretaker is not very attentive to the park's infrastructure. Kinda just realized there is absolutely no shade on any of the campsites.

It's a fine stop-over site.

  • there is my red Subee! taken from a 15' high... hill behind the campsite. Decided to do minimal setup this time because things.
  • The river is that close
  • Facing west from atop the hill
  • DID YOU KNOW that nearby Meteor Crater was the first meteor crater discovered in the world?! It's America's largest. This is privately owned and operated by a for-profit company, managed by 3 families for over 100 years. the museum is awesome and they have a 4-D, 10 minute movie that was a blast! and it's only like 30 minutes away. I frikkin LOVED this place.
