What a find !

Needed to get out of the heat in Tucson so I headed north to the White Mountains. As I did my research, coupled with the weather map, I decided on the Showlow area. I kept coming back to Fools Hollow because it was on the water, in the Pines, had large campsites separated from where the RVs are and plenty of walking trails around the lake, fishing and kayak and canoe rentals. Also, and most importantly they were dog friendly. Well all my expectations were met and more.

SiteI came up on a Wednesday knowing that it would be busy with people from Phoenix trying to get out of the heat. When I got there there were three campsites available and I chose number 26 which was a handicap campsite but is no longer one. It was perfect because my 16-year-old lab was able to get in and out easily on his ramp and when it rained the water ran off the pad And what little remained dried quickly. I also met someone in site number 31 loves it because there are only neighbors on one side and they bring a lot of Bird food and birdfeeders. They mentioned that they had seen 25 different species of birds this trip and fishing Eagles.
