This is usually a well maintained rest area with ample parking on both sides. Restroom cleaning can be a bit spotty. There are a vast number of trails off of these parking lots and two well uses back country ski sections. In the winter the snow gets very, very deep. Be prepared for road closures due to avalanches on both side of the Seward highway from this pass. Snow machines are allowed in some areas but you will need to look into it further if this is something you are interested in. This is not a campground but it is a great place to stop and take a nap in your vehicle if you are heading to the Peninsula.
