Awesome stay

My kids and I absolutely loved it here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did tent “glamping” so we had electric, water and wifi nearby but still enjoyed our time away from concrete buildings. We had a fire pit, picnic table, and parking to ourselves. The pool came in clutch since it is…

Smaller State Park, Excellent Location

Chewacla was a favorite to visit for a few hours a a local college student and now it’s an excellent location to take the family on an RV trip. Many of the sites back up into the woods for shade and a hint of privacy with plenty of space to setup outside. We are staying in the second loop and…

Secluded

The area was absolutely beautiful and I would have loved it if it weren’t for the RV next to me that ran the generator all night. There was an alligator cruising the water while I was there and minimal bugs considering we were along water.

A real gem

This place is amazing. We had started to lose hope that campgrounds like this still exist, but apparently they do.

It’s gorgeous. It’s clean. It’s peaceful. It’s free! What else could you possibly want.

There are a lot of gators in the river, so swimming is a no go however.

There is no…

FREE and stunningly perfect

Absolutely love this place. Super easy to find, you just go down a red clay road. There’s plenty of sites up close to the pond, fire pits everywhere, picnic tables, clean garbages. The trooper came by in the morning and cleaned the bathrooms and changed the garbages. Overall this place is so clean…

Good tent camping

Free. Found a good spot with a view of the water. Watched the alligators and birds on the water. Was able to easily launch a canoe as there is a boat ramp. Vault toilets were available. Picnic table, fire ring, and grill at each campsite.

Busy campgroup

Site #89, nice level site with shade. The other sites nearby are very close so no a lot of privacy.

Campground was very busy with swimmers, fishermen, boats and jet skis. Not like the state parks I have camped.

Camping off the grid

This is a beautiful campground. Very wooded, beautiful pine trees. Camp sites are spacious. Drawback was that some sites had alot of water on them and in them. Lots of low lying areas in the park and some campsites so, during rain it's gets very wet and can have alot of standing water. Bathrooms…

Large site!

We had a great time here. Nice large site. Biking was great, good hills a little hard on these novice riders 🤣 there was also a bike trail just outside the gate that was paved and Paralleled a roadway...several geocaches. The city of Auburn was close and beat too. Drank milkshakes on the lawn…

This is a great out of the way park.

It is clearly an older park with not much recent love. It is clean but not perfect.

The sites have older hookups but they are functional. The campsites are not level and some of them you have to guess where to put the trailer. We stayed on April 8& 9 (Thursday and Friday) and found it…

No FHU’s here

Nice COE park. Level sites, many on the water. Some sites really wet with standing water in rainy weather. Host was not very accommodating when we asked to be moved to a dry site when the site next door was available, with no one arriving until the next day. It was an over night stop for us.

Good place to camp if you want to hike Providence Canyon

We camped here for 2 nights in early March, so that we could hike Providence Canyon.  Campground and bathhouse are clean, but not much privacy.   We were facing two of our neighbors.   There is not a lot to do in the area except for Providence Canyon, and of course, if you have a boat, the lake at…

Great little state park just outside Auburn.

Traveling back east, we found Chewacla State Park campground on The Dyrt. Due to heavy rain, did not make it as far as we wanted, so this was a last minute same day reservation, which we made online.

Total fees were $42 for a full hookup site. We got site 34 which is an 80' long back in spot.…

Great family friendly campground with lots of activities

Best place to camp if your planning to visit Providence Canyon. Campground is large with lots of amenities. On site marina with boat launch so bring your boat. The lake is gorgeous! Sites are well laid out but wide open to every one else. Not many that are very private. The campground has a…
