Mardi Gras

I’ve been to Monte Sano Stare Park on numerous occasions and always look forward to enjoying the trails and town while I’m there. I stayed at the park this time while I was in Huntsville for the annual Marci Gras parade. One of the best things about this time of year is your view is unobstructed by foliage. The row of sites along the overlook give you an excellent view of the town. Many are double sites to share with groups. The rest of the campground has level , back in and pull through sites as well as a tent area. The showerhouse is older but well maintained and has a washer and dryer. This is a gated campground so no through traffic. The trails at Monte Sano are exceptional and challenging. There is also a land trust area to hike too. Bring your hiking boots or trail running shoes for the numerous running events that are held at the park or just enjoy the Japanese Garden and overlooks.
